Previously, many people had to queue to reserve government bonds, then wait anxiously to see if they were allocated, and receive bonds in paper form. Reselling was also difficult due to unclear secondary market prices. Going forward, booking and buying government bonds will become easier with the new Aom Plus program. However, a new issue arises: which purchase channel is most suitable for each investor?,
"Aom Plus" is a new government bond program launched by the Ministry of Finance, available for public purchase starting 31 Jul 2026. It is expected to be offered in two rounds in 2026, totaling over 8 billion baht. Key features include monthly sales, enhanced secondary market mechanisms for easier bond management, and new purchase channels including the SBN Wallet on the Pao Tang app, commercial banks, securities companies, and the Streaming app.
This time, the Public Debt Management Office (PDMO) under the Ministry of Finance aims to offer attractive returns with two government bond types:
Investors interested in Aom Plus government bonds can start with investments ranging from 100 to 1,000 baht, depending on the purchase channel. However, several conditions apply, so Thairath Money invites everyone to assess which channel suits them best.
The PDMO stated that in 2026 there will be two issuance rounds of Aom Plus government bonds, each worth 4 billion baht, split equally between two purchase channels at 2 billion baht each. The public can buy through both channels, but details and conditions differ. Here is a comparison for the first sale round.

Advantages of booking via Bond Connect Platform Minimum investment is 1,000 baht, purchasable via multiple channels. The Small Lot First allocation ensures fair distribution among all applicants. Additionally, purchases via this channel are recorded in the Wiset app, which displays all assets and provides insights into the investor’s risk profile.
(In the future, Wiset will include bonds, debt instruments, mutual funds, and provident funds to offer investors a comprehensive overview of their portfolios.)
Regarding the secondary market, it remains to be seen how agencies will cooperate to simplify bond and debt instrument trading and ensure sufficient liquidity.
Finally, bonds are an alternative investment. Most importantly, before purchasing, investors should plan their finances comprehensively and clearly understand the risks involved.
