Ruangroj Poonpol or "Krating" has stepped down as chairman of the KASIKORN Business-Technology Group (KBTG), a technology company under Kasikornbank, and taken a new role as an advisor directly to the bank’s executives in technology and future innovation, titled Advisor - Executive Innovation Futurist.
Ruangroj Poonpol is one of the pioneers behind KBTG's long-standing success. According to information onLinkedIn,he led innovation teams spanning IT, AI, Big Data Analysis, and Blockchain for over seven years, and will leave the chairman position of KBTG in April 2026.
He will begin serving as an advisor to Kasikornbank on innovation and future technology starting this April as well.
He earned a master's degree from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. He has worked with leading global tech firms and founded startups in Silicon Valley.
Regarding startup and technology support, Krating founded Disrupt, a startup development program and business platform in Thailand, and established and serves as Managing Partner of 500 TukTuks, a seed-to-Series A VC fund focusing on Thai and Southeast Asian tech startups.
Most recently, in April, he also became chairman of the Disrupt Health Impact Fund, an early-stage VC fund focused on global HealthTech startups.
