Claude for Small Business Targets Small Enterprises with Multi-Tool AI Workflows from Finance to Hiring

Anthropic has launched a new tool, Claude for Small Business, specifically targeting small businesses. It is a suite of tools with 15 pre-built workflows allowing business owners or employees to automate tasks using AI, covering everything from finance, payroll planning, month-end closing, marketing campaigns, customer analysis, to HR tasks, helping reduce after-hours work that often requires late-night manual effort.

Claude for Small Business is designed for instant activation via Toggle Install within Claude Cowork, and connects to popular tools already used by small businesses such as PayPal, HubSpot, Canva, DocuSign, Google Workspace, and Microsoft 365, among others.

Anthropic states that once Claude is connected to these systems, it can directly manage key business tasks through 15 ready-made agentic workflows, covering finance, operations, sales, marketing, HR, and customer service.

Additionally, there are 15 pre-built skills created from repetitive tasks that business owners identified as the most time-consuming. Examples include:

  • Payroll planning. Claude can pull cash flow data from QuickBooks and compare it with incoming payments via PayPal, then generate a 30-day forecast, rank outstanding invoices, and prepare follow-up messages for business owners to review before sending.
  • Month-end closing. Claude can verify accounts against various settlements, report discrepancies, summarize profit and loss (P&L) in simple language, and export documentation for accountants via QuickBooks immediately.
  • Automated business overview summary. Claude creates a dashboard consolidating important business data on one page, including cash status, sales trends, sales pipeline, and key weekly tasks.
  • Marketing campaign planning. Claude can analyze periods of slowed sales, evaluate campaign effectiveness in HubSpot, draft promotional strategies, and create creative assets via Canva ready for deployment.

Other tools include invoice tracking systems, margin analysis, month-end document preparation, tax management aids, contract review systems, lead screening tools, and content strategy planners.

Anthropic explains that Claude Cowork serves as a hub connecting various services, each with specific roles. For example:

  • PayPal Used for managing settlements, issuing invoices, handling disputes, and processing refunds.
  • Intuit QuickBooks Used for payroll planning, month-end closing, cash flow management, and tax document preparation.
  • HubSpot Used for customer screening, relationship analysis, and campaign performance measurement.
  • Canva Used to create content across multiple channels, collaborate with teams, and track results.
  • DocuSign Used to send contract documents for signing, track status, and store completed signed documents.

Finally, Anthropic states that all operations of Claude for Business remain under user control, with business owners able to review plans before approving AI actions. They can set data access permissions for each employee and program, and Anthropic will not use customer data for model training.

Daniela Amodei, co-founder and president of Anthropic, said AI is a technology that helps small businesses bridge the resource gap compared to large enterprises. Claude will assist with tasks that often pile up after hours, while business owners retain control. Claude helps reduce time-consuming daily tasks.
