ISUZU Exports 3 Million Thai-Made D-Max and MU-X Vehicles Globally

ISUZU has exported 3 million D-Max and MU-X vehicles produced in Thailand to global markets, confirming world-class quality standards and reaffirming its status as a "Product Champion," creating strong economic value and a robust image for Thailand.

Mr. Takashi Hata, Managing Director of Triple-P Isuzu Sales Co., Ltd., said they are ready to officially announce the historic achievement at the end of 2025: exporting 3,000,000 ISUZU D-Max and MU-X vehicles from Thailand production bases to global markets.

This milestone reflects ISUZU's and Thailand's capabilities as one of the world's key automotive production and export hubs. ISUZU relocated its pickup production from Japan to Thailand in 2002 to manufacture for domestic sales and exports to 120 countries worldwide.

ISUZU vehicles made in Thailand are widely recognized for their high Japanese-quality standards, durability, fuel efficiency, and excellent performance. This success proves that ISUZU vehicles produced by Thai workers enjoy the highest consumer trust and strong global demand.

Most recently, in April 2025, ISUZU began producing and exporting the D-Max EV electric pickup, the brand's first from the Thai base to Europe. ISUZU’s clear business approach is to grow together with Thailand by building a strong value chain within the Thai automotive industry.

This includes massive investments in production and using over 90% local content in pickups, making them a Product Champion exported to more than 120 countries worldwide.

Additionally, ISUZU transferred its research and development (R&D) center from Japan to Thailand for both small and large vehicles, creating a broad, deep, and strong global supply chain in the automotive industry. This has contributed to Thailand now hosting over 2,500 automotive parts manufacturers and employing more than 850,000 people in the sector.

ISUZU began operations in Thailand in 1957, started vehicle production in 1963, and has steadfastly used Thailand as a production base for domestic sales and exports, even through various crises. It has shown rapid growth in the past decade, with over 6 million ISUZU vehicles produced in Thailand to date, nearly 50% of which are exported, detailed as follows:

  • 1 million units exported by 2014.
  • 2 million units exported by 2019.
  • 3 million units exported by 2025.

ISUZU remains committed to Thailand as a future automotive production base through product and technology development supporting carbon neutrality in various forms, meeting diverse customer needs, and continuing to create jobs and prosperity for Thailand under the concept Isuzu Trusted Buddy—ISUZU alongside you, alongside Thailand, to sustainably bring happiness to the Thai people.
