Electric trailer truck A look at the DeepWay Star 6x4 electric tractor truck, capable of traveling 440 kilometers per full load charge, priced at 6,550,000 baht, ready to enter the ASEAN transport market.
Mr. Narong Sakulsirirat, Chairman of Prime E Truck Co., Ltd., said the company is a pioneer and leader in Thailand's transition from internal combustion commercial vehicles to electric commercial vehicles in a clear and structured manner.
This encompasses products, infrastructure, and after-sales service to enable logistics operators to confidently switch from diesel to electric vehicles, achieving business value and long-term competitiveness.
Our strategic partnership with DeepWay, a global developer of intelligent electric tractor technology, marks the start of sustainably enhancing Thailand's transport efficiency. We will combine world-class technology with local market understanding to reduce costs, improve safety, and create strategic advantages for Thai logistics globally.
Mr. Tan Chang Yu, Co-founder and Chief Engineering Officer of DeepWay, said this collaboration is significant as DeepWay is the world's first technology company to develop intelligent electric truck solutions with innovative design and industrial-scale commercial production. With over 6,400 units delivered in China, DeepWay is now officially entering the Thai heavy-duty electric truck market.
This serves as a strategic base for Southeast Asia. Partnering with Prime E Truck as the official distributor of DeepWay electric tractor trucks in Thailand aims to create a complete Vehicle + Service ecosystem for Thai logistics operators, supporting a long-term transition to green transportation.
Mr. Chen Jun, ASEAN Regional Service Executive at CATL, a global leader in battery innovation, emphasized the standout features of CATL’s third-generation battery, which is the core of the DeepWay Star 6x4. In heavy-duty trucking, battery lifespan is a key factor in total cost of ownership (TCO). Our batteries last up to 8 years or 4,500 charge cycles, equating to 1.6 million kilometers.
With less than 30% degradation, paired with DeepWay’s independent electric control system, the average energy consumption is 1.3 kWh/km. The 600 kWh battery supports over 440 km per charge, making DeepWay Star 6x4’s battery power truly designed for heavy commercial use.
Mr. Patthanai Wanasrisan, Vice Chairman of Marketing at Prime E Truck, said the DeepWay Star 6x4 is developed to meet the needs of long-distance container or cargo transport without frequent charging stops. Key features include:
• 600 kWh battery from CATL
• Range exceeding 440 km per charge (full load)
• Battery warranty of 6 years or 1,200,000 kilometers
• Intelligent energy management system averaging 1.3 kWh/km energy consumption
• High-level safety structure with Level 2 (L2) intelligent driving system
Additionally, the truck features a 360-degree intelligent thermal management system tested for durability in extreme desert heat, ensuring full performance in Thailand’s hot and humid climate. Testing in Thailand showed impressive performance.
It achieves a low energy consumption rate of 1.3 kWh per kilometer, costing just 3.4 baht per kWh (based on on-peak 4.2 baht and off-peak 2.6 baht rates), confirming outstanding value and a transformative impact on Thai transport.
Marketing focuses on medium to large fleets, food industry, e-commerce, and supply chains aiming to cut energy costs and carbon footprint, supported by comprehensive after-sales services including depot charging installation, maintenance, and driver training. Bookings are now open for the DeepWay Star 6x4, priced at 6,550,000 baht, with a special discount of 300,000 baht for the first 100 customers.
Mr. Patthanai added that Prime E Truck and DeepWay prioritize launching the DeepWay Star 6x4 in Thailand because the market is ready for new transport technologies, especially electric tractor trucks. This readiness is driven by government policies promoting electric vehicles, which have increased public familiarity and confidence from households to the transport business sector.
Furthermore, government agencies and global business trends have promoted green business policies (ESG), prompting the private sector to focus on low-carbon strategies. Entering the market now is ideal as all sectors are alert and ready to genuinely embrace a Green Society.
Mr. Patthanai said the company expects to sell 100 units in the first year, with 20 dealers nationwide and service centers. Prime E Truck has invested in a large technical center and parts warehouse at its headquarters in the Thepharak area.
We must aggressively educate users on electric tractor trucks to facilitate the transition from internal combustion to electric vehicles. Importantly, we need to assure customers with reliable after-sales service.
Prime E Truck has also agreed with DeepWay to research converting customers’ existing internal combustion tractor trucks to electric tractors using DeepWay’s technology and key components. This comprehensive study, expected to take 6-12 months, will cover vehicle modifications, electric drive systems (E-Axle), battery systems, and battery swap methods to ensure rapid charging solutions and market readiness.
"We believe that combining new vehicle introductions with conversion services from diesel to electric will definitely enhance the competitiveness of our domestic logistics sector."
