GWM Discontinues ORA GOODCAT Electric Car in Thailand

GWM (Thailand) has announced it will stop selling the GWM ORA Good Cat after achieving cumulative sales of 20,827 units. The company plans to introduce the GWM ORA 5 SUV and at least five new models by 2026, aiming to expand its dealer network across the country.

The GWM ORA Good Cat, known as the electric cat, made a significant impact on Thailand's automotive industry. It was the first electric vehicle to spark the "BEV Phenomenon" in Thailand, receiving strong response since its initial launch in October 2021, leading to what was called "Good Cat Fever."The car’s success was driven by its popularity, securing the top spot as Thailand’s best-selling electric vehicle in 2022. The electric cat was also the first EV produced in a Thai factory and the first exported from Thailand to global markets including Australia and Brazil.

GWM is preparing to end marketing of the electric cat to make way for new models in the GWM ORA family in Thailand. This includes launching the ORA 5 SUV and at least five new models this year, alongside plans to expand its partner store network to over 100 locations nationwide, covering every province.

Recently, GWM launched the "GWM 7-Day Parts Availability Guarantee" campaign to enhance customer confidence. It guarantees sourcing parts within seven days from the repair order confirmation. If parts cannot be obtained within this timeframe, customers will receive 4,500 GWM Points as compensation to provide reassurance. Additionally, the flagship GWM ORA 5 SUV will be introduced soon.
