GWM has stopped selling the ORA Good Cat after four years on the market, during which over 20,827 units were sold. The company is now preparing to launch the new GWM ORA 5 SUV as its successor.
On 2 Feb 2026 GMT+7, Wayne Zhou, Managing Director of GWM (Thailand), expressed gratitude to Thai customers for their continuous support of the GWM ORA Good Cat over the past four years. He described the model as an icon of electric vehicles in Thailand and one of the company's greatest sources of pride. The success over these four years is measured by more than just sales figures.
It also reflects the trust consumers have placed in the brand and its products. The GWM ORA Good Cat has become a symbol of a significant transition in Thailand's electric vehicle industry, driving GWM to further advance innovation and enhance user experience beyond previous achievements.
He assured that GWM will continue to provide quality after-sales service to all GWM ORA Good Cat customers to ensure confidence throughout the vehicle's lifespan. Recently, GWM launched a campaign guaranteeing parts availability within seven days to boost customer assurance.
The guarantee promises that parts will be sourced within seven days from the confirmed repair order date. If parts cannot be supplied within this timeframe, customers will receive 4,500 GWM Points as compensation, providing maximum peace of mind and confidence during vehicle use.
Furthermore, GWM plans to surprise Thai consumers soon with the full launch of the GWM ORA 5 SUV, another flagship model developed comprehensively.
Over the past four years, the GWM ORA Good Cat has achieved cumulative sales exceeding 20,827 units. GWM is preparing to introduce the GWM ORA 5 SUV and at least five new models to the market in 2026, alongside plans to expand its dealer network to over 100 locations nationwide.
Throughout its four-year success, the GWM ORA Good Cat has continuously made a significant impact on Thailand's automotive industry across various dimensions, including:
- Being the first electric vehicle to ignite the BEV Phenomenon in Thailand, receiving overwhelming response since its initial launch in October 2021, sparking "Good Cat Fever" due to its distinctive design and advanced technology.
- Achieving top sales as Thailand’s number one electric vehicle in 2022, reflecting leadership that sets new standards for the country’s electric vehicle industry.
- Being the first electric vehicle produced in Thailand specifically for Thai customers.
- Being the first electric vehicle exported from Thailand to major global markets, particularly Australia and Brazil.
However, GWM has decided to discontinue this model to fully usher in a new chapter for the GWM ORA lineup in Thailand. The company plans to introduce the GWM ORA 5 SUV to elevate the user experience in all aspects and to aggressively launch at least five new models within this year.
Additionally, GWM intends to expand its partner store network to cover every province nationwide with over 100 locations, enhancing service delivery to Thai customers. This reinforces GWM’s mission to become the most trusted Chinese car brand in Thailand and the number one Chinese automotive brand in after-sales service.
