MG partners with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation to enhance the capabilities of Thai personnel, laying the groundwork for AI and electric vehicles to drive the industry of the future.
Mr. Pongsak Lerdreedeewattanawong, Deputy Managing Director of MG Sales (Thailand) Co., Ltd., said, "We have actively supported workforce development through collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation by signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to develop curricula in artificial intelligence (AI) and electric vehicles. This collaboration focuses on two main areas."
1. Developing a practical training course titled "Industrial AI Literacy and Application for Non-Technical Students," with cooperation from global technology companies, to enhance knowledge, understanding, and AI skills among non-technical students, enabling them to effectively apply AI technology within industrial contexts.
2. Developing practical training courses to build workforce capacity for the electric vehicle industry. MG is one of the private sector representatives signing this agreement alongside educational institutions including King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi, Rajamangala University of Technology Suvarnabhumi, Faculty of Engineering at King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, the New Energy Vehicle Research and Learning Center at Assumption University, and Srinakharinwirot University.
Mr. Pongsak stated that this collaboration marks a significant step for MG in enhancing Thai workforce skills aligned with technological changes, especially in electric vehicles and artificial intelligence (AI), which are key to driving the new economy. It also reinforces the role of the private sector in closely working with government and educational institutions.
MG is committed to continuously developing knowledge in new energy vehicles, which is part of its vision to promote Thailand as a strong hub by nurturing a new generation with foundational knowledge and understanding of electric vehicles through partnerships with leading educational institutions across Thailand.
Previously, MG opened the New Energy Vehicle Research and Learning Center at Assumption University’s Suvarnabhumi campus, providing a learning and training space for students, employees, and the general public, as well as a platform to advance research from theory to practical application in the industry.
The collaboration between MG, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, and network partners reflects the power of integration across sectors to prepare Thai people for technological advancements, strengthen the electric vehicle industry, and sustainably enhance the country's competitiveness.
