Honda Super One and Honda E:NP2 Confirmed for Thailand at Motor Show 2026, Price Surprise Expected

Honda has revealed it will definitely bring electric vehicles to Thailand, debuting at Motor Show 2026. The expected models are the Honda Super One and Honda E:NP2, with prices likely to have surprises.

Mr. Koji Iwanami, President and CEO of Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd., said, "We see the Thai automotive industry undergoing a significant transition in technology, cost structure, consumer behavior, and government policies. Honda will proceed cautiously, focusing on long-term sustainability rather than rushing short-term competition."

"However, we assess that the Thai car market is gradually showing signs of recovery. In 2026, total vehicle sales are expected to reach about 630,000 units amid economic pressures and consumer purchasing power that has yet to fully rebound. Honda aims for sales of 76,000 units after closing 2025 with 74,044 units—a slight 3% decrease from the previous year—but still maintaining an 11.9% market share and rising to second place in Thailand's car market."

"Honda continues to lead in the personal passenger car segment. However, increasingly fierce market competition requires us to seriously adjust our strategy, especially by reducing the proportion of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles and increasing the role of hybrid and electric vehicles."

Mr. Koji added that last year, Honda imported the Honda e:N1 electric vehicle from China, but it did not meet market competition targets. Therefore, the company is considering importing additional EV models from China, the United States, and Japan to diversify its product range.

Honda will not rush to produce or market electric vehicles if the technology is not yet mature, particularly regarding battery lifespan and recycling. The company wants to avoid future car graveyard problems. Hence, Honda is focusing on developing batteries with long life and easy recyclability.

For its long-term product plan, Honda will conduct full model changes on all vehicle models by 2029, equipping them with the new Honda Sensing system. It will also reintroduce new models never before sold in Thailand or previously discontinued, to diversify and enhance brand appeal.

Additionally, in the future, Honda plans to introduce larger D-SUVs beyond the CR-V size to the Thai market, explore the possibility of establishing Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) for four-wheel vehicles in Thailand, and adjust pricing and options strategies to keep Honda’s image fresh, dynamic, and competitive long-term.

Reporters note that at Motor Show 2026, also known as the 2026 Bangkok International Motor Show, Honda plans to launch at least two new electric vehicles, likely the Honda e:N2 series (including e:NP2 and e:NS2) from China and the Honda Super-ONE imported from Japan.
