Thai Yamaha Showcases Thai Identity in MotoGP 2026

Thai Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. unveiled a special polo shirt collection to celebrate the start of the 2026 MotoGP season at the PT Grand Prix of Thailand 2026 held at Chang International Circuit in Buriram Province. This year, Thai Yamaha designed a special polo collection reflecting Thai identity, recognized internationally, through Thai silk featuring the “Phalaay Kho Chao Fa Sirivannavari” pattern—a royal design by Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya. This distinctive fabric pattern was woven and blended with local wisdom by weavers in Phutthaisong District, Buriram Province.

This year’s MotoGP Thailand race is special not only because Thailand has the honor of hosting the season opener of the world motorcycle road racing championship, but also because Thai Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. recognizes Buriram Province's unique identity in silk production. This reflects the local artisans' wisdom and creativity through beautifully designed natural dyes.

The YAMAHA RACING special polo collection combines Yamaha’s design team’s work with the identity of Thai silk, especially the royal silk pattern “Phalaay Kho Chao Fa Sirivannavari,” expressed through the craftsmanship of the Phutthaisong community. This supports local businesses and showcases Buriram’s identity to the international audience.

The royal fabric pattern was designed by Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya to be bestowed upon the Thai people. It aims to preserve and advance the identity of Thai textiles into contemporary fashion and elevate them to an international level. The ikat pattern symbolizes love, happiness, and good wishes for the Thai people.

Weavers in Phutthaisong District adapted and developed the royal pattern’s weaving techniques, resulting in a unique work that has won design awards.

The design and meaning of the royal fabric pattern include:

• The letter 'S' represents Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya.

• Ten rows of the letter 'S' symbolize His Majesty King Vajiralongkorn, Rama X.

• The heart-shaped border pattern signifies the love the Princess has for all Thai people.

This inspires the development of Thai fabrics and related products to be contemporary and globally recognized, fostering strong and sustainable community livelihoods.

The YAMAHA Racing ThaiGP Collection polo shirts are priced at 1,500 baht each and come with a special collector’s box. They will be sold at the YAMAHA GP Pavilion booth from 27 February to 1 March 2026 during the PT Grand Prix of Thailand 2026, limited to 1,000 pieces.
