MotoGP 2026 Thailand Race Hosts Tuk-Tuk Grand Prix Challenge That Electrifies the World

MotoGP Thailand launched the Tuk-Tuk Challenge, also known as the Tuk-Tuk Grand Prix, creating a viral image that reverberated around the world.

On 1 Mar 2026 GMT+7, MotoGP Thailand made history again at the PT Grand Prix of Thailand, the opening race of the 2026 season, delivering a hilarious moment to fans worldwide through the Tuk-Tuk Challenge featuring 22 premier class riders.

Top riders including world champions Marc Márquez, Francesco Bagnaia, Fabio Quartararo, Joan Mir, and Jorge Martín competed, showcasing Thailand’s soft power with tuk-tuks to the global audience.

Meanwhile, Jack Miller and Toprak Razgatlıoğlu, the mischievous duo from Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP, claimed the first victory at Chang International Circuit in Buriram province.

The PT Grand Prix of Thailand made motorsport history by replacing the usual Rider Parade—where MotoGP riders ride trucks around the circuit to greet fans—with the Tuk-Tuk Challenge, pairing all 22 riders from 11 teams to race tuk-tuks.

The race results saw Australian rider Jack Miller and his fun-loving teammate Toprak Razgatlıoğlu from Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP emerge victorious amid roaring cheers from fans at Chang International Circuit.

The Tuk-Tuk Challenge is part of MotoGP’s new strategy to deliver entertainment through the culture of each host country, effectively promoting tourism. The tuk-tuk, a long-standing Thai cultural icon, serves as Thailand’s unique soft power symbol.
