ISUZU confirms that the D-Max and MU-X vehicles can use B20 biodiesel, standing by Thailand during the energy crisis. The company announces its support for government policy if an increase in biodiesel blending ratios becomes necessary.
Mr. Takashi Hata, Managing Director of Triple-P Isuzu Sales Co., Ltd. (ISUZU), said that amid the global energy crisis and fluctuating oil prices impacting transportation and living costs, ISUZU, as the market leader in pickups and commercial vehicles in Thailand, recognizes its vital role in driving the national economy and the Thai automotive industry.
With ISUZU engine technology capable of supporting B20 biodiesel in all models, the company is ready to support any government move to raise the biodiesel blend from the current 5% up to 20%. This promotes the use of biodiesel derived from domestic palm oil, helping reduce reliance on imported oil and providing concrete support to Thai farmers.
ISUZU confirms that the performance of all its vehicles—including the Isuzu D-Max pickup, the Isuzu MU-X SUV, and medium to large Isuzu trucks—can fully support B20 biodiesel.
All models have undergone engine engineering tests and development to ensure they can efficiently use biodiesel blends up to B20.
Using biodiesel helps reduce carbon dioxide and black smoke emissions. ISUZU’s engine technology compatible with B20 biodiesel has been certified to genuinely lower carbon emissions under the standards of the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization), or TGO.
Beyond meeting B20 standards, ISUZU engineers continue to research and develop engine technologies to accommodate higher biodiesel blends in the future, as well as new alternative energies such as HVO fuel made from used vegetable oil, aiming to achieve Thailand’s sustainable carbon neutrality goals.
