GWM (Thailand) unveiled the GWM ORA 5, a new generation multi-purpose SUV that elevates the SUV-B segment standard, launching two models simultaneously: the global debut of the GWM ORA 5 HEV and the GWM ORA 5 EV, which was first introduced in China. This reflects GWM's Multi-Powertrain strategy, with the following details.


Dimensions of the GWM ORA 5

Both the HEV and EV versions of the GWM ORA 5 feature well-balanced dimensions designed for daily use: length of 4,471 millimeters, width of 1,833 millimeters, height of 1,641 millimeters, and a wheelbase of 2,720 millimeters, which enhance cabin spaciousness and seating comfort.

With a ground clearance of 175 millimeters, the vehicle improves maneuverability across varied road conditions, providing a driving experience that is comfortable, efficient, and meets user needs for value on every journey.


Powertrain of the GWM ORA 5 HEV Hybrid Model

The GWM ORA 5 HEV combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine producing 150 horsepower and 240 Nm torque with a front-wheel-drive electric motor delivering 190 horsepower and 236 Nm torque, resulting in a total system output of 223 horsepower.

The combined torque reaches 476 Nm, ranking among the top in its segment, offering responsive driving performance and acceleration from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 7.7 seconds.

It also excels in fuel efficiency, with an ECO Sticker consumption rate of 4.3 liters per 100 kilometers and a driving range exceeding 1,000 kilometers per full tank (55-liter fuel capacity), extending travel distance per refuel.


Powertrain of the GWM ORA 5 EV Fully Electric Model

The GWM ORA 5 EV is equipped with a front-wheel-drive electric motor producing 204 horsepower and 260 Nm torque, delivering agile driving performance with 0–100 km/h acceleration in 7.5 seconds and a top speed of 170 km/h. Powered by a 58.3 kWh battery, it offers a maximum driving range of 520 kilometers per charge (NEDC).

It features a Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) system providing 6 kilowatts to power external electrical devices. The EV supports DC fast charging up to 120 kilowatts and AC charging up to 6.6 kilowatts, enabling DC charging from 30% to 80% in just 20 minutes, enhancing convenience for daily electric vehicle use.

- Equipped with the new Coffee OS 3.0 operating system, exclusive to GWM premium vehicles, working with a new processor chip to ensure fast, smooth, and responsive operation. External devices blend modernity with functional design.

- Follow Me Home engine feature enhanced with LED daytime running lights (DRL) and concealed LED tail lights.

- Black 18-inch alloy wheels paired with 225/60 R18 tires.

Additionally, the GWM ORA 5 offers smart connectivity through the GWM app, allowing users to control and monitor vehicle status via smartphone for enhanced convenience. Features include remote engine start/stop (HEV only), remote locking/unlocking, vehicle location with flashing lights and horn, and controlling the cabin's air conditioning and air filtration systems.


The app also supports defogging mode activation (both EV and HEV), pre-scheduled charging (EV only), and other commands like opening/closing the tailgate and folding side mirrors (Ultra trim only), along with real-time vehicle status monitoring to provide users with greater control and confidence.

The GWM ORA 5, a new generation SUV offering both HEV and EV powertrain options, is set to announce official prices in Thailand at Motor Show 2026 on 23 March 2026 GMT+7.
