Hyundai has launched The new STARGAZER, a 6-seat multipurpose vehicle boasting the most comprehensive safety features in its class, designed to meet the needs of new business starters and growing families. It is expected to be priced below 900,000 baht.
On 16 Mar 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Jae Kyu Jeong, CEO of Hyundai Mobility (Thailand) Co., Ltd., stated that The new STARGAZER aims to raise the standard for vehicles priced under 900,000 baht in Thailand. He noted that the current economic situation demands consumers be more cautious with their spending.
Therefore, consumers need a single vehicle for all purposes, offering flexibility and readiness to support every role. Hyundai has developed The new STARGAZER as a 6-seat, 3-row versatile vehicle equipped with the most complete safety options in its class—Hyundai SmartSense featuring 13 systems—under the slogan Life Upgrader.
This is aimed at users who are expanding, starting new businesses, or building new families. Hyundai believes this vehicle will elevate owners’ lifestyles in every dimension, meeting daily practical needs beyond just modern or extended families with many members; it also caters to startups and emerging SMEs.
The exterior design of The new STARGAZER has been completely refreshed. The hood is designed taller and longer, with a new grille and bumper that add a bold, strong SUV-style dimension. LED headlights with integrated Daytime Running Lamps enhance road presence. At the rear, the bumper and LED taillights have been redesigned with sharper, clearer lines. The vehicle’s length has increased by 115 millimeters, enhancing overall proportions while maintaining the standout feature of spacious interior room.
Inside, The new STARGAZER is offered in a 6-seat configuration featuring second-row Captain’s seats—individual seats that provide flexible folding options for cargo while maintaining passenger comfort, a unique feature in this segment.
A convenient walk-through passage from the second row to the third-row seats is provided. The third row is designed to accommodate adults comfortably, offering the widest space in its class to seat six occupants with ease. The rear cargo space holds 185 liters and can expand up to 1,892 liters when folding the second and third rows, fully supporting both entrepreneurs’ equipment transport and family travel needs.
Mr. Wallop Chalermwongsavej, Managing Director of Hyundai Mobility (Thailand) Co., Ltd., said Hyundai prioritizes developing The new STARGAZER to meet diverse needs, whether for new-generation startups, modern families, or younger people balancing multiple roles simultaneously. This model is designed to support all roles in a balanced way.
This applies to usable space, comfort, and safety technology—especially the inclusion of Hyundai SmartSense, an intelligent safety system with 13 features, representing the most comprehensive safety options in this segment. It also introduces the Junction Turning function in the FCA system to enhance safety in risky situations like turning at intersections, plus Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go to boost driver confidence on all routes.
Regarding safety technology, The new STARGAZER comes equipped with Hyundai SmartSense (ADAS), an intelligent safety suite comprising 13 systems. Key highlights include Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, which automatically adjusts speed and maintains distance from the vehicle ahead to reduce driver fatigue, and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA).
FCA includes Junction Turning, providing alerts and automatic braking when there is a risk of frontal collision, including during intersection turns. It is complemented by Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) and Lane Following Assist (LFA) to keep the vehicle centered in its lane, as well as Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA).
BCA reduces risks from blind spots, while Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA) brakes automatically when crossing traffic is detected behind during reversing. Additional support systems include Safe Exit Warning (SEW), Driver Attention Warning (DAW), Rear Occupant Alert (ROA), and High Beam Assist (HBA), together increasing confidence on every journey with a total of 13 safety features.
Under the hood, The new STARGAZER is powered by a 1.5 MPi engine delivering a maximum of 113 horsepower and 144 Newton-meters of torque, paired with an IVT (Intelligent Variable Transmission). This setup provides smooth, continuous, and fuel-efficient driving suitable for both urban and long-distance travel. The front suspension uses a MacPherson strut, while the rear features a torsion beam, ensuring stable handling and comfortable seating. Noise and vibration reduction have been developed to create a quiet, relaxing cabin environment.
In Thailand, The new STARGAZER is launched in two variants: TREND 6 and SMART 6. It offers a new 6-seat standard that elevates design, technology, and interior space, perfectly blending modernity with versatility. This makes it suitable for everyday use, travel, and business roles all in one vehicle.
Official pricing will be announced at the 47th Bangkok International Motor Show, where visitors can experience the vehicle firsthand and get detailed information from Hyundai experts at the booth. Special offers and sales campaigns for all Hyundai models will also be available during the event to provide value and facilitate ownership during this special period.
