TOYOTA showcases vehicles designed to meet every lifestyle and cover all customer needs, backed by reliable after-sales service. Most recently, it launched promotions for Motor Show 2026 featuring low interest rates and installment payments starting at just over 2,000 baht.
Mr. Noriaki Yamashita, President of Toyota Motor Thailand Co., Ltd. (TOYOTA), said that the automotive market situation in Thailand and Toyota’s recent performance show signs of gradual recovery. Last year, the total market sales reached approximately 621,000 units, an 8% increase from the previous year, reflecting renewed consumer confidence.
However, towards the end of last year, changes in government support policies for EV measures 3.0 and 3.5 caused short-term market fluctuations, leading to unusually high sales growth in December 2024 and January 2025. Despite these conditions, Toyota maintained steady growth.
Last year, Toyota recorded total sales of 230,000 units, a 4.4% increase compared to the prior year. Amid late-year market challenges, Toyota achieved a 37% market share, marking its second highest level in 11 years, just behind 2024.
For this year, the automotive market growth trend remains positive, with cumulative sales from January to February increasing by 11% compared to the same period last year. Although market share was lower than usual in January due to prior market impacts, Toyota’s market share rebounded to 42.3% in February, the highest in 14 years.
Mr. Noriaki said one of Toyota’s key strengths is offering a comprehensive product range that meets diverse customer needs and lifestyles, supported by a strong, nationwide service network. He then introduced various Toyota models showcased at Motor Show 2026, starting with:
1. Toyota Land Cruiser FJ Launched just last Saturday, the Land Cruiser is one of Toyota’s legendary brands, trusted worldwide for its strength, durability, and excellent off-road performance.
2. Toyota Hilux Travo and Toyota Hilux Travo-e Introduced last year alongside the Land Cruiser FJ, both Hilux Travo and Travo-e highlight Toyota’s vital role in supporting and developing Thailand’s automotive industry through production, employment, and economic value creation.
Since their launch, these models have received excellent feedback from Thai customers. Combined with the ongoing success of the Toyota Hilux Revo and Hilux Champ, Toyota achieved a record high 48.7% market share in the pickup truck segment last year.
Additionally, Toyota’s PPV king, the Fortuner, introduced the Leader G+ variant last year, which was also well received. The success of these models reflects customer trust in Toyota and the company’s commitment to continuous vehicle improvement.
3. The SUV segment led by the Corolla Cross The refreshed 2026 model adds the Smart HEV variant, offering customers easier access to hybrid vehicles, and the HEV GR SPORT with updated exterior and interior design. Both variants have been warmly received by customers.
Also featured is the Toyota Yaris Cross, Thailand’s best-selling hybrid SUV. Last year, Toyota introduced the special YARIS CROSS NIGHTSHADE model, enhancing design appeal and modern style.
4. Toyota bZ4X, a premium electric SUV Equipped with reliable BEV technology, it delivers excellent driving performance. Toyota’s SUV lineup reflects its dedication to offering diverse options to meet all customer lifestyles and needs.
5. Toyota Yaris Ativ and Toyota Yaris Hatchback Both models have been well received, helping Toyota capture a record 48.7% market share in the Eco-car segment. This success is partly due to the ATIV HEV, a new hybrid variant added to the Trusted HEV lineup last year.
This year, Toyota introduced the updated Corolla Altis sedan, adding the Smart HEV variant to provide customers with easier access to Toyota’s hybrid technology.
In the MPV segment, Toyota offers the Veloz and Innova Zenix, along with luxury mini-vans featuring hybrid technology: the Toyota Alphard and Vellfire. These come with reliable customer service, extensive warranties, and readiness for vehicle delivery.
