SAIC Motor CP and MG Sales Thailand, the manufacturer and distributor of MG vehicles in Thailand, announced their success in the electric vehicle market during the Motor Show, with strong response from Thai consumers resulting in over 5,000 bookings. The NEW MG S5 EV and NEW MG4 MY2026 accounted for more than 71% of bookings, while the MG IM5 created a sensation with over 10% of bookings following its official launch at Motor Show 2026. This reflects consumer confidence in the MG brand. The company plans to begin delivering vehicles to customers nationwide from early April onward.
Following the official launch of MG’s new models last week, customer interest and demand for 100% electric vehicles surged beyond expectations. The NEW MG S5 EV and NEW MG4 MY2026 were popular models at the event, meeting consumer needs for electric cars that offer confident driving experiences and everyday practicality. Combined bookings for these two models exceeded 3,500 units, with deliveries scheduled to begin in April.
Meanwhile, the MG IM5, a premium electric vehicle recognized as “The 1st Premium Intelligent e-Sedan,” features advanced technology and agility that fully satisfy the needs of modern customers. Its superior features led to nearly 500 bookings. Deliveries to the first group of customers will start in early April, with the initial batch expected to be fully delivered by July.
Phongsak Lertdeewattanawong, Deputy Managing Director of MG Sales Thailand, said, “We are very pleased with the strong response from Thai customers, resulting in electric vehicle bookings exceeding our targets. This demonstrates the trust consumers have in the MG brand and the continuous growth of the electric vehicle market. We are accelerating production of all locally made models to meet demand. For the MG IM5, we have planned additional imports to ensure continuous deliveries starting from April. We thank all our customers for their interest and trust in our brand. We are committed to delivering advanced driving experiences and steadily advancing towards the future of the automotive industry.”
