Michelin Primacy 5 was developed under the concept of safety and confidence in excellent all-around performance over time (Confidence Made to Last). It expands its product line to cover SUV use to meet the rapidly growing market demand.Michelin Primacy 5 offers a comfortable driving experience, safety, and long tire life, supporting use with electric vehicles. The SUV version delivers confidence in every drive, even on challenging roads.
Michelin Primacy 5 is a new tire model developed as an advancement of Primacy 4, focusing on maintaining quiet comfort, improving durability, and braking performance, extending tire life up to the final kilometer.
Development details and specifications available in Thailand:
Target group and development: Primacy 5 is designed to support a wider range of vehicles, including medium to large sedans (e.g., Civic, Accord, Camry), SUVs and crossovers focused on urban and long-distance driving, electric vehicles (EVs), and hybrids. This model is enhanced to better support the weight and torque of EVs, helps save energy (low rolling resistance), and provides exceptionally quiet performance.
Rubber compound and technology: Adaptive Grip Compound is a new rubber formula that improves tire contact with the road, enhancing grip on both dry and wet surfaces. Energy Passive 2.0 reduces energy loss in the rubber, resulting in fuel savings or longer range per charge (for EVs). MaxTouch Construction improves the tread structure to distribute pressure evenly, reducing uneven wear and increasing tire life by 18% (about 7,000 km) compared to previous models.
Tread design: EverGrip Technology features a new tread pattern with 13% deeper water channels, maintaining effective braking on wet roads even as tread wears down (Safe when new, safe when worn). Silent Passive Design arranges tread blocks and small grooves (sipes) evenly to cancel sound waves, reducing cabin noise.

This expansion increases the variety of tire sizes from 16 to 22 inches with up to 40 options, covering all vehicle types and meeting diverse consumer demands comprehensively. It also broadens access for more drivers to experience the excellence of Michelin Primacy 5, which has won awards such as the 2025 Auto Magazine Best Tire Award and first place in the 2025 summer tire performance test conducted by Tekniikan Maailma, Finland’s leading automotive magazine.”
Michelin Primacy 5 for SUVs continues to deliver superior grip and durability, praised by consumers, leading automotive journalists, and dealers worldwide. It is designed to inspire confidence on every drive, even on challenging routes, featuring reinforced sidewalls that improve vehicle control and resist impact better.
Additionally, it has been performance-certified by leading independent bodies, demonstrating the unique qualities of the Primacy 5 family, including: § A more comfortable driving experience, ranked number one for quietness and comfort(1) with the lowest noise thanks to MICHELIN Silent Rib Gen-3 technology; § Superior long-lasting safety, with wet braking distances 16% shorter (both new and worn tires) and top rankings in wet obstacle avoidance tests thanks to MICHELIN EverGrip, MICHELIN EverTread, and the new MICHELIN Functional Elastomers 3.0 rubber compound(2,3); § Excellent durability with MaxTouch technology promoting even wear and extending tire life by increasing the contact area and distributing pressure evenly during acceleration, braking, and cornering, ensuring safety from the first use to the next tire change; and § Compatibility with electric vehicles due to a high-performance rubber compound on the tread that reduces rolling resistance by up to 10%(4), improving energy efficiency and extending driving range per battery charge.
