Kasikorn Research Center Expects Motor Show 2026 Car Reservations to Reach 100,000 Units

Kasikorn Research Center expects that by the end of Motor Show 2026, car reservations may reach 100,000 units, with Chinese cars estimated to represent about 70% of the bookings.

According to a report from Kasikorn Research Center, car reservations during the first half of Motor Show 2026 increased by approximately 69% compared to last year, with over 41,778 units booked. This reflects a more vibrant market than in previous years. Typically, bookings tend to rise further during the second half of the event.

Including reservations from brands yet to announce their figures, it is expected that this year's Motor Show could break records by reaching about 100,000 bookings, marking an increase of roughly 30% over the 2025 Motor Show reservations.

Chinese cars continue to gain a stronger positive reception, and at this event, bookings for Chinese vehicles are expected to account for approximately 70% of the total.

This trend is mainly supported by rising demand for battery electric vehicles (BEVs), driven by concerns over persistently high oil prices linked to the Iran war. At the show, BEVs are anticipated to represent more than 60% of total bookings.
