Thai Yamaha Motor has launched the All New Yamaha AEROX SP, a next-generation 155cc supersport automatic under the concept “SuperSport Automatic – the ultimate supersport automatic, sportier and more exciting at every level.” It embodies the sporty DNA from the R-Series family combined with advanced riding technology and the intelligent YECVT transmission system, offering riders control over performance and elevating the thrill of riding beyond previous standards.
The New Yamaha AEROX SP features a new Blue Core 155cc engine developed for improved performance and reduced internal friction. It includes a Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) system for smooth acceleration across all speeds, a forged piston, and a hydraulic valve chain tensioner to enhance durability and engine stability.
A key highlight of the All New Yamaha AEROX SP is the YECVT (Yamaha Electric Continuously Variable Transmission) system, electronically controlled via ECU, allowing riders to freely select their riding style. It offers Riding Mode Selection with two modes:
• T Mode (Town Mode) – provides smooth riding ideal for city use and helps save fuel.
• S Mode (Sport Mode) – increases excitement with sporty riding responsiveness.
It also includes a Shift Down Function that boosts acceleration for overtaking and enables engine braking control via a Shift button.
For safety and control, the New Yamaha AEROX SP is equipped with a front ABS system to prevent wheel lock during sudden braking, a large 230mm rear disc brake to enhance stopping power, and a Traction Control System (TCS) that helps maintain wheel balance and reduce slipping on risky road surfaces.
The design of the New Yamaha AEROX SP has been enhanced for greater sportiness with a full cowl design aerodynamic fairing to reduce air resistance, a new frame that increases rigidity and reduces body twisting, and a body position around the footrest area designed for a more secure grip by the rider.
The front suspension has been improved with a 30mm inner front shock absorber to increase stability when cornering, while the rear suspension uses a Sub-Tank system that enhances sporty character and effectively absorbs shocks.
Lighting features include dual projector LED headlights with daytime running lights, a newly designed LED taillight inspired by the R-Series DNA, sporty-shaped LED turn signals, and an Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) that flashes warning lights during sudden braking to improve safety for the rider and following vehicles.
The All New Yamaha AEROX SP incorporates a 4.2-inch color TFT Infotainment Meter with three display modes and a Track Mode for lap time recording similar to R-Series motorcycles. It supports turn-by-turn navigation displaying routes from Google Maps on the meter screen when connected via Bluetooth to a smartphone, along with the Y-Connect application that links vehicle data through the CCU, allowing users to check riding information and vehicle status on their smartphones across nine functions.
For convenience, the All New Yamaha AEROX SP includes a Smart Key System with a remote smart key for easy engine start, handlebar unlock, seat, and fuel cap access. It also features a front storage compartment with a USB Type-C charging port and a large 25-liter under-seat storage box capable of holding a full-face helmet.
The All New Yamaha AEROX SP is available in two color options.
