WULING launches the WULING Porta EV, an electric cargo van designed for transport, capable of carrying 1.2 tons and traveling 400 km, supporting Thai businesses with a low transport cost of only 0.56 baht per km.
Mr. Tyson Tang, General Manager of SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile (SGMW) Thailand, said Thailand is the top strategic market in the ASEAN region, and SGMW is fully committed to supporting new products.
For the WULING brand in Thailand, there will be several new models continuously introduced in 2026 to meet the diverse electric vehicle needs of Thai consumers and businesses, with a key focus on supporting WULING THAILAND.
Efforts are underway to raise standards at showrooms and service centers nationwide, especially in after-sales service and spare parts availability, to build consumer confidence following WULING's WANJIA philosophy, meaning WULING is for every consumer.
Mr. Pithaya Thanadumrongsak, CEO of Wuling Sales (Thailand) Co., Ltd., said they have received over 2,845 orders for the Wuling Starlight Darion EV during the Early Bird period—the first month—across more than 30 WULING showrooms nationwide, reflecting warm support from Thai consumers.
Deliveries began on 1 April and will continue until all pre-orders are fulfilled by May 2026 without exception.
The current oil crisis is a powerful driver pushing consumers and businesses to seriously consider electric vehicles. EV operating costs are significantly lower than those of gasoline vehicles. We understand that in today’s economic climate, costs—especially fuel and transport expenses—are the heaviest burdens for operators.
The launch of the WULING Porta EV is not just about selling vehicles; it represents delivering a highly effective cost-reduction solution to Thai businesses at a time when it is most needed.
"The current oil crisis is not temporary but a clear signal that transport business cost structures dependent on oil are entering a dangerous zone. Operators who have not adapted face high risks due to uncontrollable fuel costs. The WULING Porta EV is the investment answer today, acting as a protective barrier against uncontrollable costs, helping your business survive and compete long-term," he said.
Mr. Mike Chen, Deputy General Manager of Wuling Sales (Thailand) Co., Ltd., stated that the WULING Porta EV is the most cost-effective electric cargo van, designed specifically to meet the needs of the transport and logistics sector with four main advantages that surpass competitors in the same segment.
1. Intelligent Cargo Space (Super Capacity)
2. Battery Innovation (Wuling MAGIC Battery)
3. Incredible Low Cost (Extreme Efficiency)
4. Reliable Performance for Heavy Loads (Reliable Strength)
The WULING Porta EV starts at just 599,000 baht, making it the only electric commercial vehicle priced on par with single-cab diesel pickups.
