Suzuki Motor Thailand officially announced the price for the ALL NEW SUZUKI e VITARA, the first 100% electric crossover model, featuring four-wheel drive technology, Suzuki Safety Support system, and a maximum driving range of 455 kilometers per full charge. It supports DC fast charging up to 70 kW, with prices starting at 2,890,000 baht.
The price of 2,890,000 baht for the NEW SUZUKI e VITARA, launched in Thailand on 23 April 2026, is the official price from Suzuki Motor Thailand. This price has "shocked the industry" and faced heavy criticism for being "too expensive" compared to the specs and current market competitors.
The main reasons behind the criticism that the New e Vitara is priced too high are as follows:
The price is much higher than expected. Previously, it was predicted that the price would not exceed 2,000,000 baht, but the actual launch price nearly reached 3 million. Compared to the price in India, Suzuki's main production base, the top model with a 61 kWh battery is priced at about 680,000 baht (approximately 2 million Indian rupees), making the Thai price four times higher than neighboring countries.
Import taxes and duties are a factor because the vehicle is fully imported (CBU) from India, lacking the tax benefits given to EVs imported from China under the FTA. Therefore, the price includes full import and excise taxes. When comparing the specs to the steep price — a 61 kWh battery with a 455 km range (NEDC standard) — many see the specs as comparable to Chinese EVs priced under 800,000 baht. Yet Suzuki’s price is set at a European or high-performance vehicle level. The price surge makes it difficult to compete in Thailand’s market, which is abundant with Chinese EVs benefiting from government tax support, controlled parts prices by Chinese suppliers, and aggressive price competition from Chinese brands targeting Japanese rivals.

The NEW SUZUKI e VITARA uses electric car technology with a 61 kWh battery capacity, supports AC charging up to 7 kW (Type 2 connector), and DC charging up to 70 kW, allowing charging from 10 to 80% in 45 minutes. It features an Immediate Charging Switch button and illuminated charging port to facilitate plugging in at night or in low light conditions.
The NEW SUZUKI e VITARA is equipped with a four-wheel drive system to enhance stability and grip on all road surfaces, complemented by the ALLGRIP-e technology that manages torque distribution between front and rear wheels for optimal driving performance and safety.
The ALL NEW SUZUKI e VITARA is designed with a sporty SUV style, featuring a Glass Roof with sunshade, automatic LED headlights with Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and Auto High Beam System (AHS), LED tail lights, and LED fog lights. The body dimensions are 4,275 mm long, 1,800 mm wide, 1,635 mm high, with a 2,700 mm wheelbase and 180 mm ground clearance, designed as a crossover to improve off-road capability. It rides on 18-inch alloy wheels with a minimum turning radius of 5.2 meters.
Inside the ALL NEW SUZUKI e VITARA, the cabin features an Integrated Display System that connects driving information and functions, including a 10.25-inch customizable instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen on the center console supporting smartphone connectivity via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The high-quality Infinity sound system includes eight speakers, a subwoofer, and amplifier, working with a Digital Signal Processor to deliver balanced, clear, and immersive sound. Ambient interior lighting offers 12 color options with 7 brightness levels. The door panels have a unique design, a tall front console, automatic air conditioning with PM 2.5 filter, and a wireless charging pad. The steering wheel has a rounded rectangular shape to ease entry and exit and includes control buttons. The seats are designed for comfort, with the driver’s seat electrically adjustable in 10 directions and heated front seats. The rear seats fold 4:2:4 and slide forward and backward. The floating center console includes a shift-by-wire driving mode control supporting AUTO, TRAIL, PEDAL, and Hill Descent Control modes. The vehicle also features an electronic parking brake and automatic brake hold when the foot is lifted from the brake pedal.
