
BYD RÊVER Thailand has issued a statement accepting responsibility for the front camera clip circulating on social media, confirming that the individuals involved were indeed service center employees and that all have been dismissed.
On 30 Apr 2026 GMT+7, reporters noted that on the onlineplatforms,a clip was widely shared showing a customer who brought their BYD electric vehicle to a service center. In the video, a mechanic is heard discussing unplugging the car’s front camera and making remarks about customer service that were unfavorable to the customer. The clip was shared widely across several Facebook fan pages.
Recently, Revere Automotive Co., Ltd.,the official distributorand after-sales service provider for BYD's new energy vehicles in Thailand under the Revere business group, or BYD RÊVER Thailand, issueda statement stating that
the company apologizes for the incident involving a video clip that showed inappropriate behavior while on duty, which violates the company's standards and code of ethics.
After verification with the relevant distributor, the company confirmed that all individuals in the incident were employees of the distributor, who has terminated their employment immediately.
Although the incident occurred at the distributor level, the company considers it unacceptable and has closely monitored the situation, considering further measures against the distributor according to company policies.
Additionally, the company will review and enhance oversight of its dealer network, including service standards and workplace ethics, to prevent such incidents from recurring.
