SAIC MOTOR CORPORATION, the parent company of MG, is preparing to reach a cumulative global delivery total of 100 million vehicles, becoming the first Chinese automaker to hit the hundred-million milestone.

SAIC MOTOR CORPORATION released a report on its early 2026 business achievements, reaffirming its position as a leading Chinese automotive brand performing strongly worldwide. This success stems from a business model focused on systematic competition, integrating four key sectors: affiliated brands, joint ventures, new energy vehicles, and overseas markets.


Breaking down achievements by sector, affiliated brands serve as the main growth drivers. In the first four months of 2026, five leading brands—MG, Roewe, IM, Maxus, and Wuling—recorded combined sales exceeding 910,000 units, a 6.9% increase, accounting for 69.9% of total sales. Within the Chinese market alone, these brands held the top sales position for four consecutive months, with April sales reaching 328,000 units and cumulative sales for the first four months surpassing 1.302 million units.


The joint venture segment showed success through partnerships such as SAIC-GM and SAIC-GM-Wuling, both demonstrating clear growth. Meanwhile, new energy vehicles (NEVs) sold 1,643,000 units in 2025, up 33.1%, representing 36.4% of total sales.

In the first four months of 2026, NEV sales totaled 412,000 units. Regarding overseas markets, sales reached 459,000 units during the same period, a 50.2% increase compared to the previous year.


Last year, vehicle exports totaled 1.07 million units, bringing cumulative global exports to over 6 million units. Leveraging system strengths that combine the four key sectors, SAIC MOTOR CORPORATION is approaching the significant milestone of 100 million cumulative vehicle deliveries and users worldwide.

MG continues to reinforce its status as one of the most influential core brands in SAIC MOTOR CORPORATION’s portfolio by delivering outstanding global performance.

Especially in Europe, MG remains the top-selling Chinese automotive brand. In the first four months of 2026, it achieved sales of 120,000 units. This success is also reflected in Thailand, one of its strategic markets.


Moreover, in the first four months of 2026, MG’s cumulative vehicle registrations in Thailand exceeded 10,953 units, marking a 76% growth compared to the previous year. This record supports SAIC MOTOR CORPORATION’s accelerated goal of reaching 100 million vehicles globally, driven largely by fully electric vehicles (EVs).
