CP FOTON Launches Three eView Connect Electric Vans to Target Urban Transport Market

CP FOTON exceeded its sales target in five months and launched the new eView Connect electric van series, expanding into the logistics and urban transport sectors. The company has joined forces with Huawei and Spark EV to create a comprehensive commercial electric vehicle ecosystem.

Mr. Chen Demao, Managing Director of CP FOTON Sales Co., Ltd., said the high oil prices affect transportation costs, but the logistics industry still demands vehicles continuously. Moreover, CP FOTON's products are reasonably priced and cost-effective investments, so the impact has been limited. They are confident in their products and aim to become the third-largest commercial vehicle brand in Thailand within one year and reach first or second place within five years.

Currently, the FOTON CP Motor factory in Thailand has an annual production capacity of 3,000 Euro 5 engine commercial vehicles and plans to expand its new energy vehicle production line in Thailand soon. Besides serving the domestic market, they export to Indonesia and are analyzing plans to expand into Vietnam and Malaysia in the near future. Additionally, they have expanded spare parts warehouses and continuously enhanced maintenance technicians’ skills among dealers.

Launch of three new electric van models

Recently, CP FOTON unveiled the 100% electric van model eView Connect, which received strong pre-order interest. The model is a complete new development featuring the standout eDrive system with improved power, reduced weight, and superior performance compared to other vehicles in its class.

The vehicle is designed as a true Business Solution, with easy operation via doors opening on three sides and a floor height of just 50 centimeters, ideal for loading and unloading goods.

Mr. Patcharawipol Surawattanakul, Deputy Managing Director of CP FOTON Sales Co., Ltd., said eView Connect stands out compared to regular pickup trucks because it offers greater cargo capacity and high maneuverability. Being a fully enclosed van, it can operate logistics deliveries in urban areas 24 hours a day. If it replaces just 10% of the approximately 30,000 pickup trucks registered annually in the market, that would translate into sales of 3,000 units.

To support the use of commercial electric vehicles comprehensively, CP FOTON has signed memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with national partners, including:

Collaboration with Spark EV aims to build an electric vehicle and charging station ecosystem. Initially, a special EV Card promotion will be offered to customers purchasing the eView Connect during the launch period. In the future, they plan to jointly develop high-power DC fast chargers specifically for trucks and large commercial vehicles, as well as integrate application programming interfaces (APIs) and exchange technical data to facilitate and assure operators.

Collaboration with Huawei (Thailand) focuses on driving and setting new standards for commercial EV use in Thailand through building a complete ecosystem—from vehicles, megawatt-level fast charging stations, solar energy storage and charging systems, to partnerships offering integrated financial loan services for customers.

"With strong products, comprehensive after-sales service, financial partners offering special conditions, and robust charging infrastructure, we believe CP FOTON will be the top choice to sustainably enhance the competitiveness of Thai operators," the company said.
