Toyota revealed that vehicle exports from Thailand totaled 208,500 units in the first seven months of 2026, led by 137,400 Toyota Hilux units and 40,500 Toyota Yaris ATIV units. This reflects the strength of Thailand's production base, which continues to earn global market confidence while driving the economy, employment, and domestic supply chains.
Mr. Supakorn Rattanaworaha, Senior Executive Vice President of Toyota Motor Thailand Co., Ltd., stated that from January to July 2026, Thailand exported a total of 208,500 vehicles to overseas markets.
These figures show that despite the global automotive market undergoing technological transitions, vehicles produced in Thailand remain trusted for their quality, production standards, and ability to meet diverse market demands.
By model, the Toyota Hilux was the highest export with 137,400 units, representing about 66% of total exports. This highlights Thailand's strength as a key production hub for Toyota pickup trucks.
Next was the Toyota Yaris ATIV, with 40,500 units exported, about 19% of total exports, demonstrating the capability of Thailand's small passenger car production base to meet standards and requirements for multiple export markets.
Combined exports of Toyota Hilux and Toyota Yaris ATIV totaled 177,900 units, accounting for more than 85% of Toyota's total vehicle exports in the first seven months. The remaining 2,000 units were other models.
Regarding powertrain, Toyota reported 163,700 internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles exported and 42,800 hybrid vehicles.
This structure indicates that ICE vehicles remain the export mainstay, while hybrid vehicles are gaining a larger role, aligning with global market demand trends and the shift toward lower carbon emissions in vehicles.
"Hybrid vehicles produced in Thailand have an average local content ratio of about 70%, thus generating value not only during vehicle assembly but also benefiting parts manufacturers, suppliers, and workers within Thailand's supply chain," he said.
This export success not only reaffirms the quality of vehicles made in Thailand but also reflects Toyota's role in generating export revenue, supporting employment, and strengthening the domestic automotive and parts industry.
Especially with Toyota Hilux and Toyota Yaris ATIV together representing over 85% of total exports, these products confirm Thailand's ability to produce vehicles for both domestic and global markets.
In domestic operations, Toyota's accumulated sales in the first seven months of 2026 reached 135,199 units, up 2.39% from the same period last year, capturing a 33.29% market share.
The Pure Pickup segment, including Hilux Travo, Revo, and Champ, recorded cumulative sales of 43,082 units, increasing 5.59%, while the Eco Segment, including Yaris and Yaris ATIV, sold 40,904 units, up 20.35%.
Mr. Supakorn added that key factors sustaining Toyota's strength include customer trust, readiness of the domestic business ecosystem and supply chain, and comprehensive inventory and parts management.
"Toyota confirms its commitment to sustainable growth alongside Thai society, maintaining production quality and service standards to build confidence among customers in Thailand and abroad," he said.
