Toyota Gazoo Racings Intense Phuket Round Debuts Hybrid One Make Race

Toyota Gazoo Racing Thailand 2026 Round 2 exploded with excitement at Saphan Hin Park in Phuket, making history by introducing the Yaris ATIV HEV GR Sport in a One Make Race for the first time. "Miya Pitcha Thongjue" showcased a fiery performance, winning both the special hybrid car event and the Yaris ATIV Lady One Make Race.

Toyota Motor Thailand Co., Ltd. organized the Toyota Gazoo Racing Thailand 2026 Round 2 race on 29–30 August 2026 at Saphan Hin Park, Phuket, amid lively atmosphere and cheers from motorsport fans attending throughout the two days.

The opening ceremony was honored by Mr. Supakorn Rattanawaraha, Senior Executive Vice President of Toyota Motor Thailand Co., Ltd., along with Mr. Natthorn Srinivet and Mr. Weerachai Asavajaiphet, Assistant Senior Executive Vice Presidents, joined by Mr. Romdon Haji Awe, Deputy Governor of Phuket, provincial officials, sponsors, and representatives from Toyota dealerships in Phuket.

Mr. Supakorn said that for more than 15 years, Toyota has continuously held motorsport activities in Phuket to deliver happiness and inspiration to Thai people while contributing to the province's economic and tourism development.


First Hybrid Entry in One Make Race

The highlight of the Phuket round was the special race event, the Yaris ATIV HEV GR Sport Challenge Cup, which marked Toyota's debut of a hybrid car in a One Make Race format under the concept of Making Ever-Better Motorsports-Bred Cars—applying racing experience to improve their vehicles.


The 15-lap race featured drivers, celebrities, automotive media, and influencers testing the Yaris ATIV HEV GR Sport's performance on the track, including Miya Pitcha Thongjue, Chacha Ritta Ramnarong, Leesaw Theerathep Winothai, Top Tosapol Maisuk, Sord Style, as well as Cokey P, Carnest, and Street Metal.

The results showed that car number 9, Miya Pitcha Thongjue from the One Make Race team, claimed the championship, followed by second place Nonthanat Chaisirisuwan (Carnest) and third place Tosapol Maisuk (Top). Fourth was Theerathep Winothai (Leesaw), and fifth was Phinyada Poltamai from the Toyota Gazoo Racing Academy.


Miya's Strong Form Secures Two Championships

Miya's impressive performance continued as she competed in the Yaris ATIV Lady One Make Race, driving a car powered by Carbon Neutral Fuel, and secured first place in this race as well.

Second place went to Kitiya Theerawatwatee from KT Team Thailand, and third was Kamolsikan Thanasinchai from BoxzaRacing Motorsport Team. This means that in the Phuket round, Miya Pitcha Thongjue swept two championships: the Yaris ATIV HEV GR Sport Challenge Cup and the Yaris ATIV Lady One Make Race.


Yaris One Make Race Division 1 Champion

In the Yaris One Make Race Division 1, a 20-lap event, the champion was car number 73, Nantaphan Sirisorittharakul from team N-Sports, Acre, Singha Team Vattan. Second place was Kittinut Leuangarunchai from RukTeam Nexzter PMC52, and third was Chitsanupong Phocharoentham from Apex Sim Racing Team by HGR Academy.

This category also featured Paipai Oreo from Toyota Racing Star Team, racing a Yaris One Make Race car powered by Carbon Neutral Fuel, adding excitement and cheers from fans around the track.

For Yaris One Make Race Division 2, the winner was Christopher Murray from WOOT Bangbon 3, followed by Kontorn Kunwong from Compact Brakes Superclub Racing and Matthew Sanik from BENDIX SRT REWORTH RACING.


Hilux REVO Pickup Truck Battle

The Hilux REVO One Make Race attracted much interest, featuring 2,400 cc GD Super Power engine pickups competing over 20 laps. The winner was car number 22, Chokchai Jarunongkarn from Black Hunter Motorsport by HGR x VG x Ricota.

Second place went to Jakrapan Wannarat from Team TRANE TITANIUM x FAST FORWARD SPORT YOKOHAMA Tuned by Art, and third was Chalermphon Phollukin from VOLTRONIC NEXZTER WISE RACING TEAM BY RYNNI, known as Krom Kon Rak Mea.


Corolla ALTIS GR Sport Race Results

The event concluded with the Corolla ALTIS GR Sport One Make Race, a fiercely contested 22-lap race. Car number 16, Natthanan Pueathongkham from team N-Sports, Acre, Singha Team Vattan, took first place.

Second place was Saritthana Mitari from Lenso Motorsport Sinthorn by Vanguard Garage, and third was Kentaro Chiba. Actor and racer Pangpond Akarawut Munklasut of Toyota Racing Star Team finished fourth.

Beyond the racing, the event featured a 4x4 Adventure Track where attendees could test drive Toyota vehicles free of charge through three simulated obstacle stations, including climbing a simulated mountain over 5 meters high.


The Walk About on Track activity gave fans a chance to get close to drivers, race cars, celebrities, and influencers, along with GR Drift Show and Multi-Pathway Show demonstrations showcasing various vehicles' capabilities by professional drivers.

Additional activities included the Balance Bike Kids event for children and families, plus concerts by the band Retrospect and a mini-concert by Tong Kaewlin, creating a fun atmosphere throughout the two days.

The Toyota Gazoo Racing Thailand 2026 Rounds 3 and 4 are scheduled for 26–27 September 2026 at Chang International Circuit in Buriram.
