CHANGAN Automobile, together with Shanghai Electric Drive, a leading manufacturer and supplier of electric drive systems, is advancing support for the development of electric vehicle personnel and Hardware-in-the-Loop technology in Thailand through NSTDA, aligning with the EV30@30 policy.
Mr. Guan Xin, Vice President of CHANGAN Automobile Southeast Asia Co., Ltd., said the company, in partnership with Shanghai Electric Drive, is pushing forward to support the development of electric vehicle personnel and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) technology in Thailand through the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), following the government's EV30@30 policy aiming for electric vehicles to account for 30% of total vehicle production in the country by 2030.
They have allocated motor control units (eDrive/Motor Controller) for technical testing, training, and knowledge transfer in electric vehicle technology to elevate the standards of design and development of electric vehicle components to meet international levels.
The motor control unit is a key component that acts like the brain controlling the electric motor's operation. This collaboration not only builds upon valuable advanced electric vehicle technology knowledge transfer between NSTDA and the electric vehicle industry but also concretely supports personnel development, research, and teaching in electric vehicles in Thailand.
This initiative is vital in preparing the electric vehicle ecosystem to support the government's EV30@30 policy. It also reinforces CHANGAN's commitment to Thailand in business operations, manufacturing, and technology development through cooperation with all sectors to enhance the new energy automotive industry's capabilities and to establish a solid foundation for Thai society to genuinely move towards an environmentally friendly future.
CHANGAN is ready to be part of Thailand's electric vehicle industry development, focusing on cultivating expert personnel to drive Thailand towards becoming a manufacturing and innovation hub for electric vehicles in the ASEAN region, in line with the government's goal to advance the economy and society towards clean energy and smart transportation.
