GAC Group Reports Global January 2026 Vehicle Sales of 116,622 Units, Confident in Further Growth in Thailand

GAC Group reported global vehicle sales reaching 116,622 units in January 2026, an 18.47% increase. The company is confident that growth in Thailand can continue further as well.

The latest production and sales report shows that GAC Group started 2026 strongly, with its affiliated brands achieving combined sales exceeding 49,000 units, growing by 87.58%. Meanwhile, overseas market sales expanded significantly by 68.59%, a key indicator of the brand's increasing global popularity.

This success follows the establishment of new Business Units (BUs), including HYPTEC AION BU and Trumpchi BU, to enhance management agility. In January, HYPTEC AION BU sales surged by 171.63% year-on-year (YoY).

Joint venture brands GAC Toyota and GAC Honda also maintained impressive growth standards, notably GAC Toyota achieving sales exceeding 62,600 units.

From a strategic foundation to an era of stable growth.

The evident success in 2026 proves that the period of strategic groundwork and intensive innovation investment has surpassed a critical turning point. The company is now in an era of rapid growth and delivering rewarding returns from continuous innovation efforts. Since 2025, GAC Group has operated under the mission to maintain joint venture stability.

Strengthening its own brand and expanding its ecosystem, the company’s consecutive positive sales growth over three quarters reflects its solid financial status and an increasingly efficient, profitable business structure. This confidence is not only in financial figures but also in global consumer trust in GAC Group’s quality and standards.

GAC AION Thailand sets an all-time high record and ranks seventh in the overall market.

In Thailand, GAC AION created a new milestone with 5,584 vehicle registrations in January 2026, the highest since entering the Thai market (All-Time High). This represents a 438% growth YoY and a 234% increase month-on-month (MoM).

This outstanding performance propelled GAC to seventh place in Thailand’s overall automotive market (up one rank), capturing a 6.0% market share. This underscores that GAC AION is not just a new player but a leading brand highly trusted by Thai consumers. In 2025, GAC AION sold over 15,300 units, held an 11.2% market share in electric vehicles, and ranked third in EV sales nationwide.

System Competition strategy and commitment to Thai customers.

At the nationwide GAC AION Dealer Conference 2026 held at W Hotel Bangkok, Mr. Andrew Wang, CEO of GAC AION Thailand, emphasized a clear business direction: in 2026, GAC AION will enter the era of System Competition, focusing on building a robust electric vehicle ecosystem across all dimensions.

Expanding production capacity and supply chain. Focused on increasing the proportion of locally sourced components to establish a sustainable industrial foundation.

Innovation and service. Delivering world-class technology alongside enhanced service experiences, including providing customers peace of mind through a Lifetime Warranty campaign.

A strong network. Collaborating with nationwide dealer partners to establish excellent service standards.

Advancing to become a Global Tech Company with future-focused technology.

GAC Group continues to lead technologically by launching innovative projects such as Qijing Automotive, the first sporty wagon model set for release in June, and successfully delivering the Robotaxi R2 developed with DiDi Autonomous Driving, which has begun real-world road testing. These achievements affirm GAC Group’s superior technological capabilities and genuine investment aligned with global trends.

For international growth, GAC aims for overseas sales between 250,000 and 300,000 units in 2026 through the Thousand Network Plan, expanding foreign dealerships to over 1,000 locations, and advancing toward full export supply chains and digital ecosystems.

The strong sales figures in the first month of 2026 globally and in Thailand clearly demonstrate GAC Group’s stability and resilience. The company is committed to advancing under the Panyu Action initiative to create a New GAC, rich in competitive potential and innovation, steadfastly supporting Thai consumers with quality products and superior service to drive Thailand toward a sustainable electric vehicle future.
