Wuling Thailand is advancing in the family vehicle market with the launch of the STARLIGHT DARION EV, starting at 799,000 baht. The vehicle emphasizes its seven seats and sliding doors, marking it as the first and only premium-style van in Thailand offered at a sedan's price.
Mr. Mike Chen, Deputy Managing Director of Wuling Sales (Thailand) Co., Ltd., said WULING THAILAND plans to introduce five main new electric vehicle models to the Thai market in 2026, covering all user segments. These include the STARLIGHT DARION EV, STARLIGHT EKSION EV, PORTA EV, YEP PLUS, and Mini EV Gen 5.
All models are produced under the Wuling Brand Standard, aligned with global market standards. The marketing plan uses an omnichannel approach, combining online and offline efforts to increase brand awareness of WULING in Thailand, with a total sales target of 8,000 units across all models in 2026.
Regarding showroom networks, WULING THAILAND aims to expand from the current 24 showrooms to 50 standard showrooms nationwide by the end of 2026. These will cover all regions including Bangkok and its vicinity, the central, northern, northeastern, western, and southern regions, supporting an enhanced purchasing and service experience comparable to global premium brands.
Additionally, WULING THAILAND has established a large parts distribution center in Theparak, Samut Prakan Province, to support fast maintenance needs, reduce vehicle waiting times, and build confidence among EV users nationwide.
STARLIGHT DARION EV Challenges SUV and MPV Markets
Mr. Pithaya Thanadhamrongsak, Chief Executive Officer of Wuling Sales (Thailand) Co., Ltd., said they recently launched the WULING STARLIGHT DARION EV, a 7-seat MPV-VAN electric vehicle distinguished by features unmatched in the market, notably dual electric sliding doors on both sides — a feature unavailable in SUVs at the same price point.
This vehicle suits modern families with more members, including elderly and young children, a segment usually served only by luxury vans. The WULING STARLIGHT DARION EV proves that a premium sliding-door MPV-van at a sedan price is feasible, with prices starting at 799,000 baht.
In terms of performance, the WULING STARLIGHT DARION EV is powered by a 150 kW electric motor with 310 N·m torque, offering a range of up to 540 kilometers (CLTC). It supports 2C fast charging, reaching 30%-80% battery in just 20 minutes. These systems are specifically tuned for Thailand's hot and humid climate and have undergone suspension testing on Thai roads over 8,000 kilometers.
Powered by a MAGIC Battery with a capacity of 69.2 kWh, which is highly safe and has passed over 2,000 tests, it uses aerospace-grade high-strength steel (1,500 MPa). Globally, WULING has sold 3 million vehicles without any fire incidents caused by collisions. Safety features include six airbags around the cabin and side curtain airbags, ensuring confidence on every journey.
Inside, the WULING STARLIGHT DARION EV features a 2+2+3 seating layout, with a 230 mm wide aisle in the second row, headroom over 1.2 meters in the third row, and flexible cargo space from 315 to 1,202 liters by folding the third row with one hand. There are 25 storage compartments throughout the vehicle, a 12.8-inch central screen, and 50W wireless charging for a convenient and smart travel experience.
