
Range Rover has revealed details of its brand's first electric vehicle, enhancing the luxury SUV segment with a dual-motor system delivering up to 550 horsepower and 850 Newton-meters of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, offering a maximum driving range of 600 kilometers under WLTP standards. The 118.5 kWh battery charges from 10 to 80% in 22 minutes, paired with a traction management system that responds 100 times faster than combustion engine vehicles, while retaining the classic Range Rover ability to wade through water up to 900 mm deep.
Range Rover ushers in a new era for luxury SUVs by unveiling the Range Rover Electric, the brand's first fully electric vehicle. It has been developed to be quieter, more responsive, and to deliver the highest torque Range Rover has ever produced, while fully preserving the brand's signature luxury, craftsmanship, and all-terrain driving capabilities.
The Range Rover Electric is manufactured at the Solihull plant in England, the birthplace of Range Rover since 1970, marking a significant milestone in the brand’s transition to fully electric vehicles.
Dual motors delivering 550 horsepower and 850 Newton-meters of torque.
At the heart of the Range Rover Electric are two 260-kilowatt permanent magnet electric motors, delivering a combined maximum power of 550 horsepower and peak torque of 850 Newton-meters, comparable to the performance of a V8 engine.
The vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 4.5 seconds and overtake from 80 to 121 kilometers per hour in 2.7 seconds. Its maximum driving range is approximately 600 kilometers according to WLTP standards, with a real-world maximum range of about 535 kilometers.
Martin Limpert, Managing Director of Range Rover, stated that the Range Rover Electric is the result of engineering and technological development over the past decade. The electric drivetrain enhances cabin quietness and serenity while fully maintaining the versatile capabilities characteristic of Range Rover.
118.5 kWh battery charges for 10 minutes to add 220 km of range.
The Range Rover Electric uses a dual-stack lithium-ion battery with a usable capacity of 118.5 kWh, consisting of 344 prismatic cells. It operates with an 800-volt electrical architecture supporting DC fast charging at up to 350 kW.
At maximum charging power, the battery can charge from 10 to 80% in about 22 minutes or charge for just 10 minutes to add up to approximately 220 kilometers of driving range based on WLTP standards.
Additionally, it features the ThermAssist thermal management system, which improves range, charging speed, battery lifespan, and performance in extreme weather. This system can extend driving range by up to 40 kilometers while reducing heating energy consumption by 40%.
Traction control responds 100 times faster than combustion engines.
Despite switching to electric power, the Range Rover Electric retains its all-terrain capability through the Intelligent Driveline Dynamics (IDD) system, which can distribute torque to the rear wheels from 0 to 100% depending on driving conditions.
The Integrated Traction Management system controls motor speed and responds to wheel slip within just 50 milliseconds—100 times faster than comparable systems in combustion engine vehicles—enhancing driver confidence on low-traction surfaces.
This system works with a Single Pedal driving mode, allowing smooth starts on slopes up to 33 degrees and climbs up to 45 degrees while the vehicle is under power. The Range Rover Electric also retains its ability to wade through water up to 900 millimeters deep.
Tested over 1.5 million kilometers.
The Range Rover Electric has undergone some of the brand's most rigorous real-world and virtual testing, from extreme cold at -40 degrees Celsius in Sweden to hot desert conditions in Dubai, as well as off-road courses at the Eastnor Castle test center in the UK. Testing covered over 1.5 million kilometers—equivalent to about 38 trips around the world—and totaled more than 250,000 hours combining real and virtual environments.
Range Rover has filed more than 300 patents related to this model, potentially making the Range Rover Electric the most patented vehicle in the brand’s history. Its battery and drivetrain have passed vibration, impact, and temperature tests ranging from -40 to 90 degrees Celsius. The drivetrain is covered by an 8-year or 160,000-kilometer warranty, whichever comes first.
Manufactured in England, bookings open in Thailand.
The Range Rover Electric is built on the same architecture as the mild hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and combustion engine models at the Solihull factory. Its battery and electric drivetrain are produced at Jaguar Land Rover’s Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre in Wolverhampton, England.
The vehicle is available with both standard and long wheelbases in Autobiography, SV, SV Ultra, and SV Black trims, plus a special First Edition. Exterior color options include Belgravia Green, Santorini Black, and Varesine Blue, paired with Light Cloud Ultrafabrics PU and Kvadrat interiors.
In Thailand, Inchcape (Thailand) Co., Ltd., the official Land Rover distributor, has opened orders for the Range Rover Electric. Details on trims and pricing will be announced later, with deliveries expected to start in early 2027.
