MG Aims for Next Growth Step with 30,000 Vehicle Sales Target in 2026

MG aims for the next growth phase, targeting 30,000 vehicle sales and a 5% market share in 2026.

Mr. Ta Sen Sen, Managing Director of SAIC Motor-CP Co., Ltd., said that in 2025, the overall Thai automotive industry saw many new brands launching models amid intense price competition. Thailand's vehicle production is estimated at over 1.5 million units, with 950,000 for export and about 600,000 sold domestically.

However, a key focus for market growth is the rising demand for environmentally friendly vehicles. So far, over 120,000 electric vehicles have been registered, with their proportion steadily increasing due to government subsidies supporting electric vehicle purchases.

It is expected that the Thai automotive market will continue to grow this year, driven by efforts to elevate Thailand as Asia's electric vehicle production hub (EV HUB). Additionally, new business models and manufacturing processes will add value to the Thai economy, alongside growing popularity of hybrid vehicles.

In 2025, MG clearly demonstrated its brand and dealer network potential by selling over 27,007 units, a 57% growth, rising to fifth place in the overall market. This success reflects systematic work, close collaboration with dealers, and clear strategies on product, pricing, and service.

The NEW MG4 ELECTRIC maintained its position as the best-selling electric vehicle, while the NEW MG S5 EV won the THAILAND EV OF THE YEAR 2025 award and was recognized as the most balanced SUV in its segment. This led to strong sales growth and a record monthly sales peak of over 4,503 units since MG's establishment in Thailand.

Amid fierce price competition in the electric vehicle market, MG continues to focus on a long-term value strategy, setting reasonable prices supported by strengths such as LIFETIME WARRANTY, 5-star safety standards, national awards, and a strong after-sales service network. This approach has helped maintain pricing structure while achieving sales targets, reflecting MG's brand strength and dealer readiness in Thailand's challenging market.

For 2026, MG aims to shift from volume growth to high-quality growth by enhancing brand value, elevating customer experience at all touchpoints, and strengthening its dealer network to truly become a center for customer relationship management.

MG will continue its Global Innovation Thai Passion and Value Choice strategies while developing products across electric vehicles, internal combustion engines, and alternative energy vehicles to meet diverse Thai consumer needs. The company aims not only to sell cars but to build trust, satisfaction, and long-term customer relationships, pushing global standards in manufacturing, sales, and service to become a leading, strong, and sustainable brand in the Thai market.

“In 2026, MG is ready to target a 5% market share and strongly pursue the goal of 30,000 vehicle sales,” the company stated.
