The overall automotive market in January 2026 was bright, with Toyota achieving sales of 19,813 units, accounting for a 26.79% market share and growing 14%, led by the Yaris and Yaris ATIV models.
Mr. Supakorn Rattanaworaha, Senior Vice President of Toyota Motor Thailand Co., Ltd., said that the automotive market outlook for February shows signs of economic recovery, driven by higher overall investment growth.
This momentum is supported by the strong January sales growth, especially in electric vehicles that require accelerated delivery under the EV 3.0 program. However, it remains necessary to monitor the economic situation and domestic political developments.
In January 2026, total automotive market sales reached 73,936 units, an increase of 53.77% compared to the same period last year. This was due to the accelerated production and sales of electric vehicles to qualify for government tax incentives under the EV 3.0 and 3.5 programs, detailed as follows:
- Passenger cars and SUVs recorded sales of 55,960 units, up 83.2% from last year.
- Pickup truck sales totaled 11,507 units, down 6.12% compared to last year.
- Electric pickup trucks (BEV) sold 79 units, a surge of 1,875% from the previous year.
- PPV (Passenger Pickup Vehicles) sales were 4,132 units, up 30.88% from last year.
"For Toyota, the first month’s sales reached 19,813 units, representing a 26.79% market share and 14% growth compared to the same period last year, led by the Eco segment (Yaris and Yaris ATIV) with 6,861 units and Pure Pick Up models (Hilux Revo, Travo, and Champ) with 5,541 units."
