Mercedes-AMG is preparing a high-performance four-door GT-style coupe that is fully electric, called the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe Electric. Its performance is expected to be as fierce as its combustion-engine predecessors, judging by the earlier Concept AMG GT XX prototype. The interior of this electric AMG is packed with three screens: a 10.2-inch driver instrument cluster and two 14-inch multimedia displays handling all AMG multimedia functions. The main multimedia screen tilts slightly toward the driver for "the easiest reading and use." There is also an optional third 14-inch screen for the front passenger to enjoy a sporty digital experience. Interestingly, although the screens stand out on the dashboard, AMG prioritizes a set of three rotary knobs used to adjust the dynamics of this four-door coupe.
The Response Control system adjusts the electric motor's throttle response. The Agility Control system alters the vehicle's cornering behavior, while the Traction Control system modifies settings across nine levels of slip control. The seats are specially designed to support lateral movement during what AMG calls dynamic cornering. It features a special AMG steering wheel with various buttons, comfortable rear seats designed for two (or optionally three) passengers, and a panoramic glass roof with adjustable tint. Beyond these, it offers what affluent buyers expect from a luxury, powerful Mercedes: diamond-pattern stitching, premium ambient lighting, and a wide range of optional materials and trim.
Regarding performance, the four-door AMG prototype delivers 1,340 horsepower from three electric motors. This clean propulsion system showcases the upcoming model, built on an 800V electrical architecture with fast charging and a top speed of 358 kilometers per hour. AMG fans hope the production model will feature exciting engine sounds replacing the high-pitched electric motor whine. Late last year, Michael Schiebe, AMG's head, revealed that this four-door AMG will include simulated V8 engine sounds along with simulated gear change sounds. "We have a very strong history and heritage with our V8 engines," he said. "You know, each engine handcrafted by a single technician. Sound was a key reason from the start when developing the AMG.EA architecture that AMG electric vehicles need great engine sounds and driving modes similar to combustion engines."
The interior of the 2025-2026 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe blends cutting-edge digital technology with a premium racing atmosphere, featuring the following highlights:
1. Control Systems and Displays (Digital Cockpit)
Latest-generation MBUX: Features dual 12.3-inch configurable displays tailored in various AMG styles.
AMG Race Engineer: Driving control system with three rotary knobs on the steering wheel and center console, allowing adjustments to throttle response (Response Control), cornering behavior (Agility Control), and slip prevention (Traction Control) across nine levels.
Vertical Touchscreen: Some versions may include a large 14-inch multimedia screen tilted toward the driver for ease of use.
Seating and Cabin Layout AMG Performance Seats: Designed to support the body during high-speed driving, with optional massage and ventilation functions. Seating configurations include four seats (with a split rear bench and center console) or five seats (with a full rear bench) for versatility. Premium materials include Nappa leather combined with Microfibre (MICROCUT) and sporty Carbon Fiber accents with contrasting stitching. Roof and Lighting Panoramic Roof 'SKY CONTROL' features a large glass panel with electrically adjustable transparency (switchable tint). At night, it can display AMG logos or graphics that change color with ambient lighting. Ambient Lighting offers up to 64 color options throughout the cabin, including door panels and the console. The Burmester High-End 3D sound system delivers premium audio with 1,170 watts output through 15 speakers, providing immersive surround sound. The center console includes two wireless phone charging pads and temperature-controlled cup holders.
