Hyundai Thailand has launched the latest facelift of The new STARGAZER, a 6-seat, 3-row versatile mini MPV featuring advanced driver assistance systems and the most comprehensive safety options in its class. Designed to serve business, lifestyle, and family beginnings, it meets the diverse needs of modern life. The vehicle boasts an all-new exterior design projecting a strong SUV style, with a significant upgrade to Hyundai SmartSense (ADAS) intelligent safety technology featuring 13 systems, reinforcing its image as an all-around multipurpose vehicle combining design, performance, and safety at a new market standard.
Jay Kyu Jung, CEO of Hyundai Mobility (Thailand), stated that the new STARGAZER aims to elevate vehicle standards under 900,000 baht in Thailand. Given current economic conditions requiring consumers to be more prudent with spending, a single vehicle that is versatile and ready for all roles is more suitable. The development of The new STARGAZER as a 6-seat, 3-row multipurpose vehicle with the most comprehensive safety options in its class—featuring 13 Hyundai SmartSense systems—is expected to enhance owners' lifestyles in all dimensions. It meets daily practical needs beyond just the modern family or extended households with many members, also covering startups and new SMEs.
The new STARGAZER supports diverse uses with easy, agile driving and more space than typical passenger cars. It suits SME owners or new startups seeking a reliable vehicle capable of transporting goods and work equipment while comfortably accommodating family travel. Featuring 3 rows and 6 seats with flexible folding seats to increase storage space, it answers multi-purpose needs. It also suits new and extended families needing more space and comfort in every row. The exterior has been fully redesigned: the hood is higher and longer; the grille and bumper have a new SUV-style design; LED headlights with integrated Daytime Running Lamps; redesigned rear bumper and LED taillights; length increased by 115 millimeters to refine proportions while maintaining spacious interior highlights.
The new STARGAZER's 6-seat cabin features second-row captain seats with independent folding flexibility for cargo, plus a walk-through passage from the second to the third row. The third row is designed for adult passengers, the widest in its class, comfortably seating all six. The rear cargo area holds 185 liters, expandable up to 1,892 liters by folding the second and third rows, fully accommodating entrepreneurs' equipment and family travel needs.
Wallop Chalermwongsawech, Managing Director of Hyundai Mobility (Thailand), said, “Hyundai emphasizes developing The new STARGAZER to meet diverse roles—whether for new-generation startups, modern families, or young people juggling multiple responsibilities. This model is designed to balance all roles with ample space, comfort, and safety technology, notably including 13 intelligent Hyundai SmartSense systems—the most comprehensive safety options in this segment. It also adds Junction Turning in the FCA system to enhance safety in risky situations like turning at intersections, and Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go to boost driving confidence on all routes.”
The new STARGAZER’s safety technology includes Hyundai SmartSense (ADAS) featuring 13 systems, with key highlights as follows:
Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go automatically manages speed and distance from the vehicle ahead, reducing driver fatigue.
Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) with Junction Turning warns and automatically brakes to prevent front collisions, including when turning at intersections.
Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) and Lane Following Assist (LFA) help keep the vehicle within its lane.
Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA) reduces risks from blind spots.
Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA) applies brakes when vehicles cross behind during reversing.
Additional support systems include Safe Exit Warning (SEW), Driver Attention Warning (DAW), Rear Occupant Alert (ROA), and High Beam Assist (HBA), totaling 13 safety systems.
Performance-wise, The new STARGAZER is powered by a 1.5 MPi engine delivering 113 horsepower and 144 Newton-meters of torque, paired with an IVT (Intelligent Variable Transmission). The front suspension uses a MacPherson strut, and the rear features a torsion beam, reducing noise and vibrations to create a quiet, relaxing cabin atmosphere.
The new STARGAZER debuts in Thailand in two variants: TREND 6 and SMART 6, setting new standards for 6-seat vehicles by enhancing design, technology, and space. It perfectly combines modernity with versatility, fitting daily use, travel, and business roles in one car. Official pricing will be announced at the 47th Bangkok International Motor Show, where visitors can experience the vehicle firsthand and obtain information from Hyundai experts at the booth. Special offers and promotions will be available for all Hyundai models at the event, providing excellent value and easier ownership opportunities.
The new STARGAZER’s price is expected to be approximately 700,000 to 800,000 baht.
