Police Charge Barbershop Owner and Wives 1 and 2 with Premeditated Murder

"Barbershop owner" involved in criminal case. He declared he has 28 wives in total. Recently, police charged the suspect along with "Wife 1" and "Wife 2". They are jointly charged with premeditated murder.

The case involves Mr. Thiti Kobsapcharoen, 26, the victim, who was struck on the head with a pestle by Mr. Jeerawat Rattanawimantip, 59. A video clip recorded by Ms. A (a pseudonym), 15, daughter of the victim's friend, captured the incident. The suspect used the pestle to kill the victim, who was working at the barbershop when the incident occurred. According to Ms. A’s statement to police, those present included Ms. Natthayan Rattanawimantip, 43, the suspect’s legally married wife (Wife 1), and Miss Phonephimonh Sengchanh, 34, a Laotian national (Wife 2). Both wives were at the scene from the beginning.

The central figure is Ms. Kamolwan Buathong, or Kaed, 30, a Laotian national who claimed to be the victim's girlfriend. She left for Laos one month ago and was not at the scene. Before the Songkran festival, Ms. Kamolwan called the victim to retrieve an iPhone 15 at the barbershop where the incident took place. The victim came to the shop with a friend on 15 April, but the suspect sent them away, telling them to return after Songkran. On the day of the incident, the victim returned alone by motorcycle, leading to the fatal event. Police have charged the suspect and his two wives with premeditated murder.

On 18 April 2026, Pol. Col. Adirek Thongkaemkaew, chief of Pak Kret Police Station, along with Deputy Chief Pol. Lt. Col. Karun Limpirojnarit and investigator Pol. Lt. Visit Chomchoei, brought Mr. Jeerawat Rattanawimantip, 59, the suspect, and his wives Ms. Natthayan Rattanawimantip, 43 (Wife 1), and Miss Phonephimonh Sengchanh, 34 (Wife 2), in for questioning. Forensic officers collected DNA and fingerprint evidence and will proceed with additional charges.

When questioned, Mr. Jeerawat said he acted in self-defense and denied any intent to kill, stating he was assaulted first. He identified the weapon used as a pestle and a metal rod used to strike the victim's leg, all for self-defense. He declined further comment, adding he has 28 wives in total but only lives with one. At the time of the incident, Wife 1 and Wife 2 were present.

Currently, the suspect denies intent to kill, claiming self-defense against the victim’s attack. Investigators have filed to deny bail for all three suspects. Further updates will be provided as the case develops.
