Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, has unveiled a floating Christmas tree at Botafogo Bay, boosting the festive Christmas spirit and becoming a new attraction that draws tourists from around the world.
This floating Christmas tree stands 80 meters tall, adorned with over 2.3 million LED lights. It is installed about 100 meters from the shore and can be seen along more than 700 meters of the Botafogo beach.
A highlight of this display is the famous Rio de Janeiro backdrop — including Sugarloaf Mountain and the Christ the Redeemer statue atop Corcovado Hill — making the floating Christmas tree a stunning and powerful nighttime image.
Tourism expert Mariana Guimaraes described the launch atmosphere as magical, while content creator Marcos Regit said it was an incredible experience.
The unveiling ceremony of the giant floating Christmas tree featured a grand fireworks display, attracting large crowds of locals and tourists to Botafogo Bay to enjoy the dazzling lights.
The floating Christmas tree is expected to become Rio de Janeiro’s seasonal Christmas landmark and one of the key photo spots for tourists during the year-end festival.
