Hun Sen Releases Clip of Anutin Close with Cambodian Governor, Criticizes Using Soldiers and Citizens for Votes

Hun Sen reveals a clip showing Thai Prime Minister Anutin warmly taking pictures with the Governor of Pailin Province, Cambodia, criticizing the use of soldiers and civilians' lives to exchange for votes, noting they were still friends before Anutin became prime minister.

Freshnews, a Cambodian news agency, reported on 8 Dec 2025 that Samdech Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Senate, released a 16-second video showing Thailand's Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and his wife, Non Niramis, posing for photos with Ban Srey Mom, Governor of Pailin Province, Cambodia.

The post included a caption stating, "It is unbelievable that Thai Prime Minister Anutin, aiming for the upcoming election, dares to risk the lives of soldiers and citizens by declaring war on Cambodia, while the Cambodian military has not retaliated at all."

"They were friends before he became prime minister, but once in office, he forgot that friendship. We understand patriotism, but war should not be declared against those who do not respond."

Shortly after, Hun Sen's Facebook page posted a clip showing Anutin praying at Ratchakasatra Temple, Trapeang Thnol village, Takeo Province. It noted this was to enhance his fortune during a period when Anutin maintained good relations with Lady Ban Srimum, a close associate of Samdech Hun Sen.
