Andean shamans from across Peru held an ancient ritual on a beach in Lima to predict the country's political future, especially the decisive Chilean presidential election, indicating that José Kast will win.
The ritual used sacred traditional items including palo santo wood, coca leaves, black tobacco, herbs from the Amazon rainforest, and flower petals. The shamans began by thanking Pachamama, or Mother Earth, and Koshmama, Mother of the Sea, before proceeding with chants to reveal future visions.
This prediction focused on Chilean politics, with most shamans stating they saw a popular movement demanding government change and forecasting that José Kast is likely to win the presidential election on Sunday, 14 Dec 2025 GMT+7.
Additionally, the shamans addressed the migration issues affecting both Chile and Peru, believing the situation will begin to ease and that regional leaders will peacefully reach agreements, especially concerning migrants from Venezuela.
The ritual also referenced Mexico, with shamans predicting that next year Mexico will allow Betsy Chavez, former Peruvian Prime Minister, to travel abroad safely after she has been seeking asylum inside the Mexican ambassador's residence in Lima.
The participating shamans wore traditional attire and emphasized that they have inherited spiritual knowledge passed down for generations, reflecting the role of spiritual leaders and healers during the Inca civilization and earlier ancient cultures.
