Australian Prime Minister Reveals Bondi Beach Shooting Motivated by ISIS Extremist Ideology

The Australian leader revealed that the shocking shooting at Bondi Beach was motivated by extremist ideology associated with the Islamic State group. The attack was carefully planned, executed coldly, and was inhumane.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese confirmed that the horrific shooting at Bondi Beach last Sunday, which claimed 15 lives, was motivated by extremist ideology linked to the Islamic State (ISIS). According to all information obtained by investigators so far, it is clear that the two gunmen acted alone without domestic support networks but were driven by a hateful ideology that has persisted for over a decade. He described the attack as meticulously planned, cold-blooded, and extremely inhumane.

Earlier, Australian local media reported that the gunmen were 50-year-old Sajid Akram and his 24-year-old son Navid, both of whom had expressed loyalty to ISIS.

Sajid died at the scene, while Navid was critically injured and remains hospitalized under security guard supervision.

The attack took place during a Jewish Hanukkah celebration, targeting attendees who were mostly Jewish. The victims included a 10-year-old girl, a British rabbi, a retired police officer, and a survivor of the Holocaust genocide.

The New South Wales Ministry of Health reported that six injured people remain in critical condition, and another four are stable but still concerning.

Recently at Bondi Beach, people have been gradually placing flowers along the seaside fence to mourn. The atmosphere remains deeply sorrowful and quiet.

Meanwhile, many Australian Jews interviewed by the BBC said the attack was not unexpected amid rising anti-Semitic sentiments.

The Bondi shooting has become one of the most severe attacks in Australia in recent years, raising critical questions about the threat of extremist ideologies, minority safety, and domestic counterterrorism. The Australian government has pledged to strengthen security measures and proceed with thorough investigations to prevent such tragedies from recurring.
