The Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia has called on Thailand and Cambodia to exercise the highest restraint, urgently end the fighting, and emphasized that China is ready to play a role in peacebuilding.
On 15 December 2025 GMT+7, Mr. Wang Wenbin, the Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia, issued a statement saying that the top priority now is to promptly end the shooting between Cambodia and Thailand and to protect the safety of civilians.
The ambassador stated that China hopes both parties will exercise utmost restraint and take all possible measures to achieve a ceasefire quickly, in order to build peace and stability along the border, which will benefit the people of both countries.
He also reaffirmed that China will continue to do everything possible to promote dialogue and peacebuilding and will play a constructive role in the Chinese manner to support the ceasefire and restoration of peace between Cambodia and Thailand.
