The U.S. Powerball jackpot has rolled over to $1.5 billion after several months without a winner, with the odds of winning at 1 in 292 million.
On 19 Dec 2025 GMT+7, foreign news agencies reported that the lottery excitement in the U.S. has revived due to news of the Powerball jackpot reaching $1.5 billion, or about 54 billion baht, for the 18 December drawing, following months without a grand prize winner.
Reports say electronic billboards nationwide, including major highways in California, display the massive prize amount, stirring excitement among U.S. lottery players. This prize is among the highest jackpots in Powerball history.
The $1.5 billion jackpot is still below the all-time record of $2.04 billion won in November 2022, and the $1.787 billion prize shared by winners in Missouri and Texas on 6 September that same year.
Powerball tickets are sold in 45 states, plus Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, at $2 each. The odds of winning the jackpot stand at 1 in 292.2 million.
