Tragic Gas Explosion at Pennsylvania Nursing Home Leaves 3 Dead, 18 Injured and Hospitalized

A tragic gas explosion occurred at a nursing home in Pennsylvania, causing partial building collapse. Three people have died and 18 were injured. Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause.

On 24 Dec 2025 GMT+7, a gas-related explosion happened inside the nursing home "Bristol Health and Rehab Center," formerly known as Silver Lake Nursing Home, in Bristol Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA, around 14:15 local time on Tuesday afternoon. The blast caused part of the building to collapse.

Josh Shapiro, Governor of Pennsylvania, confirmed at least three deaths from the incident. Earlier reports had confirmed two fatalities, with a third confirmed later. Officials believe they have accounted for everyone inside the building but continue detailed searches and assessments for safety.

Local media reported 18 people were injured and taken to various hospitals in the area. However, specific details about each injured person's condition have not been released.

The local energy company, PECO, stated they received reports of a gas odor inside the building around 14:00 and sent staff to investigate. The explosion occurred while their team was still on site. It is not yet confirmed whether the company’s equipment or the natural gas system directly caused the blast. State officials and related agencies continue to investigate the true cause, assess the damage, and closely support those affected.
