Russia Shocked as Bomb Kills Two Police Officers in Moscow Near Site of Generals Assassination

Another explosion occurred in Moscow, Russia, killing two police officers just days after a car bomb killed a Russian army general.

On Wednesday, 24 Dec 2025 GMT+7, an explosion in Moscow resulted in three deaths after two police officers attempted to check a suspicious man near the location where a high-ranking general had died from a car bomb two days earlier, which Russian authorities blamed on Ukrainian intelligence.

Over nearly four years since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, several key figures in the Russian military and pro-war supporters have been assassinated, with Ukrainian military intelligence frequently claiming responsibility.

On Monday, 22 Dec 2025 GMT+7, a car bomb exploded in a parking lot in southern Moscow around 07:00, killing Lieutenant General Vanil Sarvarov, director of the Russian Army’s Operations Training Department, though no one has claimed responsibility.

Regarding the latest case, the Russian Investigative Committee stated that when two police officers approached a man acting suspiciously, an explosion occurred, killing both officers and a third person, whose identity remains unclear.

Russian authorities added that they are conducting a criminal investigation under laws related to the murder of law enforcement officers and illegal possession of explosive devices.

An unofficial Russian Telegram news channel claimed the bomber was among the dead, having detonated the device as the police approached; however, the Russian government has not officially confirmed this.
