Cambodia's Defense Minister expressed great confusion over Thai media reports claiming Cambodia sent a letter requesting ceasefire negotiations, denouncing the misinterpretation despite tools like ChatGPT and Gemini being available.
On the evening of Wednesday, 24 Dec 2025 GMT+7, General Tea Seiha, Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister of Cambodia, posted on his official Facebook account regarding the letter Cambodia's Defense Ministry sent to the Thai side last Monday through the GBC mechanism, requesting ceasefire talks.
General Tea Seiha stated, “Some Thai media outlets, including major news agencies and social media, posted the official letter (sent to Thailand's Defense Minister) in a way that made it appear as if it were a ‘leaked document.’”
“Even though we have tools like Google Translate and AI such as ChatGPT and Gemini, the translations from these tools do not match the interpretations and presentations made by Thai media to the public. Now I feel so confused I don’t know what to say.”
