Astronauts from Shenzhou-21, the Antarctic expedition team, and Fujian naval forces jointly sent greetings to the nation and its people, reflecting the power of science, courage, and security.
On 1 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Chinese astronauts from the Shenzhou-21 mission, the 42nd Antarctic scientific expedition team, and the crew aboard the Fujian aircraft carrier jointly sent New Year 2026 greetings to China and its citizens. Zhang Lu, commander of Shenzhou-21, said that seeing the vast sky and expansive Earth brings a sense of the universe’s boundlessness, wishing everyone a life in the new year aligned with hope and determination. Astronaut Wu Fei spoke of the spirit of "Wen Tian," meaning the courage to challenge the unknown, and wished that people would bravely pursue what they love and stay committed to their own paths.
The three astronauts also spoke together from the Chinese space station, saying, “Heaven and earth share the era, all directions celebrate together, happy New Year.”
Meanwhile, China’s 42nd Antarctic scientific expedition team, operating on the icebreaker Xuelong, stated that in 2026 they will advance pioneering research to understand, protect, and utilize the polar region. They also extended wishes for happiness to the Chinese people and prosperity and strength to the nation.
The crew of the Fujian aircraft carrier sent messages from the deep sea, reaffirming their mission to safeguard sovereignty and maintain peace along maritime borders. They pledged steadfast dedication to their duties, worthy of the nation’s trust, and wished for China’s prosperity and stability, as well as happiness for its people in the new year.
