Cambodian Ministry of Commerce Reports 15% Decline in Thailand-Cambodia Trade in 2025 to $3.6 Billion Due to Disputes

The Cambodian Ministry of Commerce revealed that the conflict with Thailand and product boycotts caused the Thailand-Cambodia trade figures in 2025 to decline by 15%, down to $3.6 billion.

On 13 Jan 2026 GMT+7, the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce disclosed that the trade value between Thailand and Cambodia in 2025 was approximately $3.6 billion, or about 127 billion baht, marking a 14.86% drop from the previous year amid diplomatic tensions and consumer boycotts affecting cross-border trade.

Data indicates that the conflict between the two countries intensified from mid-last year, causing total trade volume to decrease from over $4.2 billion in 2024 to $3.6 billion in 2025. Thai exports to Cambodia fell 15.04% to about $2.9 billion, or roughly 102 billion baht, while Cambodian exports to Thailand declined 14.15% to $732 million, or about 26 billion baht.

Cambodia stated that despite the drop in trade value, Thailand remains Cambodia’s fourth largest trading partner, following China, the United States, and Vietnam.

Economic experts noted that trade between Cambodia and Thailand continues to be driven by the import and export of key raw materials for industry and manufacturing, which has kept transportation activities ongoing, although there has been a shift in routes from land borders to increased sea transport.
