U.S. Warship USS Cincinnati Docks at Ream Naval Base, First U.S. Visit to Cambodia This Year Reflects U.S. Role in Indo-Pacific Region

The U.S. Navy warship USS Cincinnati is set to dock at Cambodia's Ream Naval Base, becoming the first U.S. warship to visit Cambodia this year, reflecting the U.S. role in the Indo-Pacific region.

On 23 January 2026, the Cambodian government announced that the U.S. Navy warship USS Cincinnati is scheduled to dock at Ream Naval Base in Preah Sihanouk Province from 24 to 28 January 2026, marking the first U.S. naval visit to Cambodia this year.

The USS Cincinnati is a littoral combat ship with approximately 100 crew members, weighing about 3,000 tons, and nearly 130 meters long. It is equipped with advanced weapons systems and technology, including aviation capabilities, under the command of Commander Andrew J. Rechem.

This visit coincides with the official visit of Admiral Samuel Paparo, commander of the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, who is scheduled to meet Cambodian leaders and preside over the opening ceremony of joint naval exercises between the Cambodian and U.S. navies.

The USS Cincinnati’s visit holds strategic significance as it is the third foreign warship to dock at Ream Naval Base since its renovation and official reopening in 2025, following warships from Japan and Vietnam.
