
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet revealed that Cambodia has accepted the invitation to join Trump's Board of Peace, reinforcing Cambodia's role as a country that supports global peace and stability.
On 26 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet disclosed that he accepted the invitation to join the "Board of Peace" from U.S. President Donald Trump while welcoming U.S. Indo-Pacific Commander Admiral Samuel Paparo at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh. He emphasized that joining this board reaffirms Cambodia's commitment to supporting peace and stability worldwide.
Admiral Paparo expressed gratitude to the Cambodian government for the opportunity to meet and voiced satisfaction with the positive developments in Cambodia–U.S. relations, especially regarding military cooperation. He also thanked Cambodia for permitting U.S. Navy ships to dock at Ream Naval Base, reflecting strengthened military ties.
The Cambodian Prime Minister also expressed thanks to U.S. President Donald Trump for his crucial role in facilitating the ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand. He provided an update on the latest situation concerning the Cambodia–Thailand border issue and reaffirmed Cambodia's clear stance in upholding the ceasefire agreement and the Kuala Lumpur joint declaration, stressing that Cambodia will pursue peaceful approaches based on international law, treaties, and existing agreements to achieve a peaceful and sustainable border.
