Sydney Sends First Batch of Thai Election Ballots Back Under Strict Security Measures

Sydney, New South Wales, has started the process of sending Thai election ballots cast by voters here. The first batch was loaded onto a plane headed back to Thailand under strict security measures at every stage.

Consul-General Naruchai Ninnat in Sydney personally oversaw the handover of the bags containing overseas election ballots to ensure the transport of these important documents was secure, transparent, and verifiable before handing them over to the airline for delivery to Thailand's Election Commission.

This operation reflects the consulate’s commitment to safeguarding the election ballots, which represent the voices of Thai citizens abroad, ensuring they are returned to the country intact, safely, and without loss. This gives Thai people in Australia confidence that every vote is being properly sent back to Thailand and will be handled through the appropriate procedures.

Initially, the consulate plans to send three batches of ballots, all to arrive in Thailand before 5 February as required by the Election Commission. This schedule allows sufficient time for ballots to be distributed to each district by 8 February. However, if any ballots are delayed due to postal issues, all will still be sent back, though possibly not within the set timeframe.
