The Pakistani military clashed with armed militants in several areas of Balochistan province, resulting in more than 100 deaths among both government forces and militants, while 18 civilians were also killed.
Foreign news agencies reported that the Pakistani military revealed at least 92 militants were killed during fighting with security forces across multiple cities in Balochistan province, in the country's southwest, on Saturday, 31 Jan 2026 GMT+7.
A military statement said 15 security personnel died during the clearance operations, while militants targeted civilians in several areas, causing at least 18 deaths, including women and children.
This attack occurred just one day after the Pakistani military said it killed 41 militants during separate raids at multiple locations in Balochistan, a region bordering Iran and Afghanistan that has faced decades-long separatist struggles.
Meanwhile, the banned separatist group Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for multiple attacks on Saturday across the province, stating the assaults were carried out simultaneously. The BLA also claimed to have killed 84 Pakistani security personnel, with operations lasting up to 15 hours.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistani military stated that the attacks were carried out by militant groups supported by India, and that security forces managed to prevent attempts to capture cities or key strategic locations.
“Intelligence reports clearly confirm that these attacks were planned and directed by terrorist leaders operating from outside Pakistan, who maintained direct communication with the attackers throughout the incidents,” the statement said.
Reports indicated that attacks broke out in multiple areas including Quetta, Mastung, Noshki, Dalbandin, Karan, Panjgur, Turbat, Gwadar, and Pasni.
Mohsin Naqvi, Pakistan’s Minister of Interior, condemned the attacks and praised the security forces for successfully countering them, stating in a release that officials killed dozens of militants.
